I have a problem with the premise of your question, specifically, that anyone could possibly be in a position to declare what is a "bad" television show. Entertainment is a matter of personal opinion. The best anyone can do is outline what television programs that they personally feel are worst. However, even then, that's not what you're going to get in answer: People are generally going to nominate only shows that other people consider good; specifically good enough to be broadcast more than a few episodes. The fact that these shows were broadcast for any significant amount of time generally means that they actually aren't among the worst shows. The worst shows are the ones that are so bad that practically NOBODY liked them. So the only legitimate answers to this question, I feel, are going to be programs that the vast majority of us have never heard of.
Jerry Springer (et al)
Everyone has standards. Just because those standards aren't your own doesn't mean that they aren't standards, and doesn't mean that those standard are any less worthy of respect than your standards. This statement implies that the general television viewer has some standard in their viewing. I do not think that this is the case.
True, but the point is that anything that stays on the air longer than a certain period of time is necessarily disqualified for consideration as "worst". While programs can die quickly even if someone considers them good, programs cannot live very long if practically everyone considers them bad.In any case, the length that a television show stays on air is not merely determined by it's popularity, but by other factors - the availability of actors and directors, episode cost compared to viewers gained, and so forth.
I tend not to dwell on the negative; if something was so bad as to qualify, I've effectively blotted it out of my memory. In any case, what is your personal opinion of the worst shows on television?
any and all reality tv.
i dont care how bad a sitcom may seem, id rather watch someone who actually worked to get where they are, than a circus of whores.......being whores.

There are some reality television shows that manage to rise above the mire. Survivor, for example, has people that actually have to persevere in nature, and build a camp, catch food, and so forth.
it started that way, but now its exactly the same as any other, half naked retards running around pretending to do stuff. who actually believe that their out their "roughing" it? lol, they have crew members out there, you think their actually living in huts too? or even tents? with all their equipment. im sure theres a hotel right off the beach.
I have no doubt that the camera crew have a decent job - they get to work in a paradise, and no doubt live in reasonable conditions - but the cast have a much more difficult time of it.
I haven't watched Survivor for quite a few seasons, though; I'll take your word that the show has gone greatly down hill.
I find most American sitcoms to be especially aweful. Do they have a laugh track to make us realize it's supposed to be funny? What are the worst shows on television?

Reality shows are also, in general, beneath contempt. (Can't Donald Trump afford a hair stylist? Like, really.)
trump's hair is a wig.
Someone's got to keep sinners in line, eh?Spoilsport.
