Do you believe what these scriptures found in 1 Thessalonians 5 have any merit to the life of a Christian believer considering it has to do with God's will for believers?

I think you will not find any group practicing these, except for monks and nuns. What you will find mostly are part timers. The requirements are stringent, not easy. These people lived in communes, close knit communities. Various groups in modern times have attempted to return to this model: Shakers, Quakers, Pennsylvania Dutch (Amish)...and others. None have managed to maintain such a community that I know of. They've all got bank accounts, individually owned farms and retirement plans etc. The Shakers died out, because they stopped having children.

My apologizes for that RabbiO if you feel as though am preaching. Just desire to share the truth at least to as close as we can we can get when it comes down to sharing the bible. That is why it is enjoyed to share the scripture (yes you are right), I do try to project or at least given an understanding that these letters/books in the bible.

Have context with-in them, real living people, and real things being said and problems going on in their communities, and in their faith, and the only best way to really understand anything when it comes to the bible is to give context which is as close to the truth as you can get though it is possible for me to be wrong.

Paranoia is very complicated and once triggered is difficult both to see in one's self and to deal with as a group. For example a person can start to feel hunted and see everything around as an attack. Have you heard of married people who can't stand one another's chewing? Do you believe a harmony of which was - which is being written in 1 Thess 5, to the people at Thessalonica, - is impossible to achieve what those before were able to do in (say Thessalonica or any other letter written that is part of the bible)?

Also (Do not know if you believe or are a believer (forgot)) a question would be for a person who is a believer in Christ Jesus ~ Would the believer who believes and trust God be able to by the spirit - by the spirit carry out those things which are talked about 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 ? Do you believe that there is only one God? If so, then why would God's will be 'different' for Christians than it is for everyone else?

That said, as far as the New Testament is concerned, I think there are a lot of verses that would indicate what God's will was for Christians. I would say that the Old Testament and the Torah would be what God's will was for those who adhere to the Jewish faith.

Given my tangential mind what you said reminded me of something Baha'i posted on a forum some time ago, which he gave me permission to post. This was in reference to abstaining from unlawful sex , sex outside of marriage, but it could apply to other activities that are not within God's law.

"Our spiritual nature cannot be developed except by "dying to self" and "living in God." God has given us a dual nature: one material and one spiritual. Sex is part of the material nature, however much it may be able to play a role in a truly loving relationship. It is not what we are, even though people insist that it is..... God is calling us to struggle against our lower nature and to become who we truly are: not material beings, not sexual beings, but spiritual beings who are in control of the physical side of our nature and who can thus find true happiness living in conformity with His will. Paul's qualification as an Apostle of Christ convinces me that his comments to the Thessalonians are in harmony with God's will, as does the fact that his letter is in harmony with the rest of the scriptures. I don't see any reason to doubt or question any part of it.

2 Tim 3:16 " All scriptures is inspired of God and beneficial...".
Although this scriptures technically refers to the OT, we can arguably stretch it's application to the NT.
Since this is also from Paul, could we assume a self-serving bias? yes we could, but were these comments inspired they would come from the same author anyway, God.
In that case, as I believe, they definitely would have the highest merit.

Yes, God's principles are to be found in many people and are a part of many religions.Although I think that only the Bible has all of them.

12But we ask you (Paul) (1 Thess. 1:1), brothers (Those who are at Thessalonia (1 Thess 1:1-10), to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, who preside over you in the Lord and give you instruction (Speaking about those who elders in the church, in that time period: Paul is encouraging to listen to those who are working among you to help you in your faith, and trust in God, and finding the truth in the Gospel of Christ).

14And we urge you, brothers, to admonish (gently warn by the spirit) the unruly, encourage the fainthearted (encourage those weak in faith), help the weak (help the weak in strength), and be patient with everyone (be patient with everyone).

15Make sure that no one repays evil for evil (If someone commits and malicious action against you, trying to slander you, (if in real danger call police get help!), trying to say you did something when you did not do whatever it was a person is saying) ~ Pray for them, do not repay them back. I was just reading in a devotional today, by Ruth Chou Simons, on God’s will for believers expressed in 1 Thessalonians 4:3 and some of the others you listed. Specifically, God’s will is for believers to be sanctified; set apart and made holy, living a life pleasing and honoring Christ.

If you were to believe in the "Word of God" (Rev 19:13), you would not be following the false prophets, the wolves in sheep's clothing, such as Paul, who was one of the two horns of the beast (Constantine the founder of the Roman church via his Council of Nicaea and his false dogma of the Trinity). For those with the mark of the beast, which includes Sunday day of rest (321 AD) and Trinity dogma (325 AD), they apparently will have to drink from the cup of God's wrath (Rev 14:10). The only people raising from the dead to rule with the Christ, will be those without the mark of the beast (Rev 20:4). As for prayer, God does not listen to the prayers of the wicked (Jer 14:11-12) and tells Jeremiah not to pray for them. It is the tares/wicked/lawless (under false gospel of grace), who are facing the gathering of the angels, to be cast into the furnace of fire. (Mt 13:30) This is to precede the gathering of the wheat into the barn. God's will is for the coming of the kingdom, which entails the judgment of the wicked/lawless. Apparently, according to Zechariah 14, that starts with the nations coming against Jerusalem. You might want to look at the news reports concerning Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, and the Gaza strip with respect to Jerusalem. The consequences for the nations is the plague of radiation poisoning (Zech 14:12).
