might not want to be ….YOUR God

have you thought about rejection?.....and the silence that follows

I see the notion is movie script now and then

some one who once knew the Voice of God
but a falling out brought pronouncement...…
He doesn't talk to me anymore

or maybe He is already ….quiet

the book of Job has a scenario of conflict

it seems the devil would like to be counted among the sons of God
but God had some words about that....

have you considered the least of my servants?.....Job

that would be an insult...in the face of the devil
to not be counted as a son
and to be compared to the least of servants....as if the least of them is greater

and THEN God allowed the devil to blindside Job.....!!!!!

Silence always tell a lot more than words. Teaches more than sermons.
No need for talking, then. It's shallow.

Whenever my gods fall silent it is not rejection to me, it's just part of the way. Only in silence we grow.

I don't think if a God can not be heard of the people who wish to follow him/her/it. it is the God who does not speak to them, it is more likely that it is the human beings ow fault they lost "connection" with God. meaning it is the human being who must work harder spiritually to be able to hear God again

    instruction was given.....
go to your closet and close the door
and the Spirit that knows you will hear your prayer

and what if that be seriously correct?

    something in the dark.....is listening
and it's close enough to hear you speaking in a whisper

As a semi-polytheist, yes. Like any other relationship, the one between a deity and devotee may not be a good fit. Either party might decide that. Barring the booming voice from the sky, just about the only way a deity might communicate with a devotee is through gut feeling, instinct, intuition, a strong feeling. My personal enshrined pantheon are those deities I feel a certain affinity for, and/or are reflections of my personality, or personal aspects. Others, not so much or at all.

So yeah... we get that you're an atheist and anti-religion, but you completely missed the point, and made a totally nonsensical analogy. Have you never heard of withholding the answer so the student could find it themselves?

Of course. The puppet won't do anything unless you pull the strings yourself.

Have you ever heard of persons ponderously
posting points so obvious and known to all
that a bit of teasing might be in order?

Or of people who get all huffy when tweaked
    a bit? :D

I have problems with using the designation 'your God, or my God.' It does not make much sense.

Rejection or acceptance is a human egocentric notion and perspective and not likely representative of the relationship of God to individuals, humanity nor the greater natural existence.

I was answering in the context of religion, since the thread is in religious debates and is about religious matters

I have no ill toward atheists and I am not the kind of theist to proclaim his religion is the best/only truth that everyone should abide for.

Peace. There is no need for hostility of this kind

    mmmmm…..no
    it wasn't a bet

    God had nothing to prove
    and God knew His servant
    so.....Job had nothing to prove

it was the devil.....trying to prove himself better than the least of servants
