This was written by Christian put up on facebook by my sister all the Christian women are thrilled plum about it. So this says you should save yourself not for you or God but do it for your husbands, apparently for conservative Christian women, Jesus and Hod is not God, the man of your life is lord God master savior. Here it is. Not only that but sense this is for all young ladies, truly being single is not ok for women to be in the conservative Christian church and we owe our body's to a man and we are here to pleasure and serve men.. Oh wow this is the exact attitude I had as a sex addict, conservative Christian women must sex addicts like me! The man and his male genatallia is God lord master savior praise be to his male body parts!

Virginity is a condition that has a simple cure. Nobody who waits to get married to have sex (whether male or female) is doing their partner any favors.

A conservative Christian librarian actually told my wife that fathers are best at reading bedtime stories to the children. I had a kick out of that but now I'm reading every night. =(

Well, reading to your kids is a great thing to do. All parents should do it. But I take it you don't enjoy it? :p

Why are these people so obsessed with the sexual lives of others? It is just creepy.

Because not too long ago birth control wasn't really up to par, women with kids are less desirable (available may be a better word choice) than women without kids, children statistically did (and perhaps do) better with more than one parent, and our inheritance laws were decidedly sexist and disfavored illegitimate children.

Consequently, we developed part of our mythology to address these facts. In some ways they compounded issues, in other ways they created new issues, and if we are optimistic they helped as well.

This is what parents do. They find a way to get the other parents to do the work.

Sex is purely an instinctual act that all animals do. Nothing "sacred" about it.

Good question. I suspect jealousy and envy are big parts of it, as well as the basic human desire to otherise and demonise people so you can look down on them.

Once upon a time this whole thing was mainly about preventing unwanted pregnancies of uncertain paternity, quite sensibly, within the context of the time. Most of the religious framework has much more to do with shutting down questions than it has anything to do with God's thoughts on the matter.

Now here we are in an age of reliable contraception and support networks for unmarried parents that mean the original reasons for most of these rules are gone, but the religious framework remains, and sadly, for a lot of people, "but the Bible SEZ!" is a compelling argument in and of its self. The "WHY does the Bible say?" simply doesn't enter into it.

I agree to a point however we still are having teenager unwanted pregnancies, many wont get protection or are too scared too, don't know to .

We still have STDs as well which is always a good reason not to. I know you can wear condoms but condoms don't work 100 percent of the time. Its also hard to go without sex once you learn to like it. I know that more then anyone.

One of the problems here is that there is so much social stigma about even talking about sex that a good, open discussion about birth control and basic safety is almost impossible, let alone having a discussion of the possible variations. Some people are so against sex education in our schools that we shouldn't be surprised that we see teen pregnancies and STDs. Ignorance is NOT bliss.

Er, we do rape. You shouldn't project human behaviors on non-humans, either. Even if it looks forced, it may not be. Female cats and dogs go into heat, after all.

I don't understand what value this virginity could have to a woman's husband.
It seems to me women are carefully guarding a thing of no real value.

If anything, it would seem that having someone who knows what she is doing is a good thing. To me, this looks like valuing ignorance for women, which is insane.

I wasn't suggesting the earlier social norms were 100% foolproof, nor that modern ones are. Merely that in an age before contraception, religion backed social prohibition was the best available solution to the extant problems. It no longer is.
