I'm not wrong. There is only one true God, the creator of all things.
And you Draka? Are you willing to take the chance? Do you have such a faith in some god that you can say with all confidence, "When I die, I know I am going to heaven." I can. I'm staking my eternal life on it. That's how sure I am. You can have that assurance also. If you want it, that is. It's your choice.
Consider giving Him a try. You'll never be sorry.
It seems you get irritated very easily. Apparently Diana hasn't had a good influence on you. You may want to reconsider who you follow. Have a great day!Do you know how irritating it is to keep getting this tripe from Christians? See below.

Faith is a choice. I have made a conscious decision to believe in God based on hearing/reading/studying His word. I find His word to be true. Look at His prophesies. They have been fulfilled. It amazes me how He foretold the destruction of Jerusalem. And then there are the prophesies about Him. They have been fulfilled.. Then my reasoning kicks in. Why would so many give their lives for a lie? Why would they willingly be burned alive or killed in horrific ways for something that wasn't true. I'm speaking of the many martyrs in the first century. Then there are records outside the Bible about His existence, His crucifiction, resurrection, miracles, healings, etc. written by non Christians. He made claims about Himself never made by any other. He claimed to be the Son of God and God Himself. Can you expound on it?
If I didn't believe my belief was right, I wouldn't state it. Think about what you're saying. Yes, what you have written is a personal attack. You have made negative comments about my attitude. That is personal. All I have done is state what I believe. PERIOD. I answered the questions in the OP, and I gave reasons for my position, which is are based on the word of God. I'm sorry you have such a low opinion of christians. I pray that you will learn to be more tolerant. You see it as personal attack, I see it as merely stating the truth. You, in fact, do come off as condescending and high and mighty when you speak to everyone else here as if you KNOW when you merely believe. You make statements telling everybody else how they will have to confront your version of god yet you are unwilling to even entertain the notion, the simple idea, that you could be facing a reality other than the one you believe in. You don't answer my question, you deflect. You want to put out such statements and questions to others to assert that your belief is right and expect them to just buy it or consider it to change their minds, then you should be willing to address the same type of statements and questions put to you.
Good to see you have a sense of humor!
I don't have a low opinion of Christians. Many are very nice and are people with beliefs like anyone else. What I do have a problem with are people who make condescending claims to others, coming off as superior, and are unwilling to even consider taking the very same medicine they are doling out on everyone else. And you have not just stated what you believe "period", you tell everyone else to accept your god, "give him a try", that they will meet your god and need to accept him. blah blah blah. But when the same types of things, same statements, same questions are put to you you blow them off. You have put to people that they will meet your god and what will they say to him...debate with him...etc. There have been those here who have deigned to entertain your notion and have responded with how they would react upon such a meeting. You, however, will not entertain the same notion that you put forth only from a different direction. Why are you above answering the same type of posts, same types of questions, that you feel you have a right to put to others here?If I didn't believe my belief was right, I wouldn't state it. BTW, don't assume just because someone defends the rights of homosexuals that they must be homosexual. Second, the rights aren't something I think homosexuals deserve, they do deserve them as human rights.Draka,
I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind explaining something to me. Why is it so important to homosexuals to prove to others that what they do is right? If you truly believe homosexality is right, what does it matter what others think? I understand perfectly why you would fight for what you think are your legal rights. But why fight so hard against those who think homosexuality is a sin? Why do feel that people should be tolerant of your beliefs, but you don't need to be tolerant of others' beliefs. I believe homosexuality is a sin. So what? That plays no part in how I would ever treat you as a human being. I would love you the same way I love all people. I would treat you no different than I do an adulterer, or glutton. You would be surprised to know that I have a son, a grandson, and a niece who are homosexual. I love each of them dearly and have good relationships with all three. They and their friends are welcome in my home anytime. However, they all know that I believe that homosexuality is a sin. They accept my belief as I accept theirs. It's called tolerance.

I have also made a choice in a way. And in a way I have not.Faith is a choice. I have made a conscious decision to believe in God based on hearing/reading/studying His word. Obviously, homophobia is a big part. But there is also something much darker at work.I have gay friends who have suffered a lot of discrimination because of homophobic bigotry. It saddens me that anyone on a spiritual path would be intolerant of another persons sexuality. Or gender or race for that matter.
To be honest I suspect that most religious objection to homosexuality is really thinly-disguised homophobia.

What is sad is that you think that because a christian believes what the Bible says, that homosexuality is an abomination to God, that makes them homophobic. That is so not true. I am a very tolerant person to all kinds of people. I would love for you and others to be tolerant of me.I have gay friends who have suffered a lot of discrimination because of homophobic bigotry. It's because people mistake tolerance for acceptance. Tolerance is putting up with something although you don't agree with it, nothing more. What is sad is that you think that because a christian believes what the Bible says, that homosexuality is an abomination to God, that makes them homophobic.
