Watching tv

RabbiO

הרב יונה בן זכריה
And can they use internet

I don't want to answer for Tumah, who has posted to RF more than 3,900 times, but I would point out to you that in response to your initial question Tumah responded -
"Ultra Orthodox Jews don't as a rule, watch tv. Whoever told you we did, was wrong."

In other words,Tumah was identifying himself among those who are known as "Ultra Orthodox."

Does that give you any clue to a possible answer to your question?

I am a little confused, My TV is on most days except Shabbat, not that i am actually
watching it other than News, or the occasional SciFi film i may enjoy (sorry
can't help it, being a Mad Scientist and inventor of Life support equipment)

I also consider myself "Orthodox" though not ultra ;)

My confusion is what rule or tradition would consider it Un-Kosher ...
more so than for instance Radio or newspaper ...

though i accept that some programs with personal intimacy cause me to
be repulsed and change channels

Well, for one thing, once you admit that there is the possibility of bumping into something outright prohibited to see, that's in itself a good reason to avoid it.
Also, even if its possible to consistently avoid it, there is still the issue of men and women dressed immodestly as well as immodest behavior and speech.

Yes i acknowledge that, though sadly i see similar immodesty whilst shopping
or even at the hospital where i work, worse perhaps the idolatry displayed
upon some walls and around necks of those who follow other beliefs ...
