We are looking at seeing if we can have popups for reminding users they are posting in a certain area, thanks to one of your posts suggesting it. Don't get your hopes up though.

Wish you'd write a reaaaaaally long educational post for me to read on this over an hour train journey :P

Here's a really short education post for you to read:
There's a lone single quote at the end of the Hebrew part of your tag.
Maybe you can read this very sloowwllyy.

I was tempted to change your custom title to 'Warrior', but that would be gross abuse of mod power :D I'll just stick to editing your typos inste I didn't say anything.

        I have no words.
I heard that the KSA government subsidizes water, I guess because people in KSA need water to live. Apparently people in Paris need croissants to get through the day.

Water?? That flavourless nonsense with no sugar?? I need something stronger than that to see me through the day.

Tumah, I can't respond in public to your latest comment on the thread you wish to be moved to Religious Debates, but there is a reason it's not there. However, as we aren't PMing anymore, I can't really tell you (it's mod stuff that includes you and other Jewish posters behind the scenes anyway).

Oh, I thought you were saying that my comment was deleted. It's not my thread, so I didn't even think it was my place to request it to be moved. I was telling the other poster that he should if he wanted me to respond.

You can, for future reference, report a thread to request it be moved if you think it should be. However, with this thread there is an issue with moving it that I alluded to earlier. That's all.

I just learnt that Conservative Jews tend to reject Torah m'Sinai and it made me a little sad. Also, 1 am is a good a time as ever to be researching this, right? Sleep is for the weak.

I need to ask a stupid question. I should know this by now, but I don't, because stuff and reasons. ...How is 'Charedi' pronounced? Where is the stress on the syllables? I have heard several pronunciations, I'm asking for the one that won't make me sound /too/ foreign.

Yeah, transliterations can be confusing. The 'ch' and 'a' are as in 'Bach", the 'e' is like the ay in 'hay' unless you're talking Modern Hebrew/Sephardic style in which case it's like 'end'. And the 'i' is ee like bee.
The stress is on the second syllable if you're speaking English and the last if you're speaking Hebrew.

I was *this* close to dropping the 'Noahide' label because of the appropriation and misuse of it by certain other groups becoming extremely annoying, but there is no other label so I suppose I'll just stick to defending the, uh, actual definition. Just that if it drops from my profile, it's not because I ditched it wholesale.

Why not bat Noach instead? You can even do it using Hebrew letters instead of transliteration.

Thank you for informing me about the Septuagint's history. I had just remembered that Christian authors used Greek translations of the Tanach, and had foolishly assumed that the texts they used were the same which exist now.

Sometimes I would much rather write responses than just like all your posts, but there's rarely anything to add. Occasionally I have been tempted to argue with you just for the sake of it, create a troll xian account or something. I won't, of course, but the thought has crossed my mind.
