True or False

Conflicting traditional and modern meanings don't necessarily make it arbitrary. Just hard to talk about between people who don't accept each others definitions.
True enough. I still think the evidence is very clear, and makes the word's meaning supremely arbitrary.

God is a whole term like Universe and Consciousness. They represent the "set of all things" and as such are mysterious.
That is one way of defining it, sure.

But not a particularly typical or encompassing one. If anything, for many people the concept is appealling because it promises to dissolve mystery.

ok....so....I will just drag you people through this....

Thou shall not have false gods before thee
(I read that somewhere)

and how would you know if you did?

the orthodox definitely say this for pagan gods. they say only father is real and the only manifestation of father is the son. all other gods are fakes. god of sea? fake. god of sky? fake. the source of sea and sky is only father, and the son makes sea and sky visible.

as in ....possessing the power of creation

but sticking to the nature of God....true or false....good or evil

as you make your approach
God might be in a bad mood
similar to the flood event....He might be considering a great harm

would He still be the true God Creator?......in your perspective

God had his reasons for the flood. the OT is old and there god was a tribal god. it's ancient history. now in the NT God is an international god and he is good to the good, and incompatible to the wicked. if we are good, we will go to heaven after we die. we will join him after the second coming. if we are evil, we will disappear, like we never existed.

edit

is he the true creator? i hope so!

the NT God had a spokesman......who did preach....
Do not call Me good
no one is good but the Father

I like your postwork....it is more positive in spirit than my own

but when I speak of God...I refrain to call Him.......harmless

so I do believe God is capable of great harm
and in all reports of Him after the creation events.....
He seems to destroy anything that He does not approve of

and if no one is good but the Father......

oh oh

true true. and the orthodox repeatedly ask for god's mercy.
and that leads me to this.....

If God is true.....to Himself....
we are in deeeeep trouble

If God is true to us.....mercy is the only recourse

but would He not be setting truth aside?.....for our sake

he gives us one last chance of repent. if we truly repent, it counts.

old christians, when they sinned, they had tears in their eyes that they are not worthy. god's mercy was upon them :)

I thoroughly reject the notion of there being "false gods." At least in the sense you mean.
