There isn't a single religion

that preaches evil. All religions talk about love. So people are free to choose whichever religion they like! All religions are correct. All people can unite. And atheists have to say to other people that they choose love and not evil. How can atheists show to other people that they don't choose evil?

Religion is like a vehicle that can assist with becoming a better person. If religion doesn't achieve that or causes hatred and disunity then that religion is no religion at all and best to be without it.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.”

As an atheist i can honestly say that i am as moral, if not more so than many religious folk. And I am as capable of love as any other human being.

One does not need a god sitting on your shoulder to tell you what is good and evil, or who to love ore hate. All one needs is humanity and it is an insult to humanity in general to cherry pick who is or isnt a human being based solely on your personal faith.

Now consider the prison population of the usa. There are considerably more inmates of the christian faith than the average for the general population. For atheists the reverse is true. Which seems to indicate that in america at least atheists are less evil than christians.

Far to idealistic to be real, tripping through the daisies, and singing the 'bluebirds of happiness.'

All religions may 'talk of love,' but the reality of the ancient tribal religions like Judaism, Christianity and Islam is very different, because violence and hate is very much an intimate part of their history. It is just as common for theists to choose 'evil' as atheists. This is an unfortunate attribute of human nature.

Well, ah . . . people for various reason are not free to choose whichever religion they like. It sounds like you consider what people 'like' is a realistic criteria for choosing a religion. First, the reality is most people stay with a version of the their heritage, family and peers regardless of whether they 'like' it or not. Peer pressure and the desire for acceptance most often are priorities over 'I like.' In many countries it is illegal to convert and even punishable by death.

So when a religious person tells you that they choose love, you automatically take their word for it, but when an atheist tells you the same thing, you question whether they're telling the truth?

I'm not interested in justifying myself to you, but I am interested in exploring your apparent prejudice towards atheists. Why do you think it is?

Shall I start quoting verses (from various religions) that preach evil? How about those that practice human sacrifice? Smite the unbelievers!

You think that telling people if they don't convert to the religion that God will send them to hell to be tortured for eternity in flames isn't evil? That's terrorism. I see no spiritual benefit to selling fear. It is the opposite of love. Fear creates hell.

that preaches evil.

All of the seven are fallen now, all of the seven belief systems have been proven false.

All religions talk about love.

They "love" the creature, instead of the Creator.

"They exchanged the truth about God for a lie,
and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. - Romans 1:25

So people are free to choose whichever religion they like!

They did.

The composite beast has risen from the many nations and peoples and tongues.

All religions are correct. All people can unite.

They did unite.

All religions can find a home now with the seven heads on the composite beast of Revelation 13. Each of them has a blasphemous name written on them.

And atheists have to say to other people that they choose love and not evil.

"Having a form of godliness,
but denying the power thereof. - 2 Timothy 3:5

How can atheists show to other people that they don't choose evil?

They can't.

Jesus said that no man can come to the Father except through Him.

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6
Early may fly,
The Babylonian woe.

Cleverly put but not true. Tribalism, racism and nationalism have been just as effective as religion in motivating good people to attack and kill their neighbors.

But the people that do that are 'bad' already.
No worse than the people who use religion as an excuse to attack their neighbors. The problem is that we humans are arrogant:

Our religion is superior to theirs!
Our nation is superior to theirs!
Our race is superior to theirs!
Our tribe is superior to theirs!

People do try to follow their best understanding of the truth according to their conscience
I respect that pursuit

Jesus spoke of worshiping God 'in spirit and in truth' which might include being sincere and sincerely loving truth, He did say "I am the truth"

Love is like an electric-current,

Electric current is used by a doctor in the operation-theater to save the life of a person/patient, whereas the same electric current is used by one person to kill the another one.

God/Love/Soul reside even in the bad people too. The only difference is that bad people use it for bad, whereas good people use it for good.

Its not the religion that preaches for good, or evil.
Its one's own "Mind" that preaches for good, or evil.

Relatively,

Its not the people who need to unite.
Its the "Minds" who need to unite.

But, "Minds" can never unite.

When prisoners are polled on their religion, I think we should bear in mind that admitting to atheism wouldn't be smart since most will be facing parole boards in the USA dominated by Christians.:D
