I never understood the old testament law concerning the Sabbath. It seems that it was to be a blessing, a day of rest, so enjoy your day off. Butt....... if they didn't, they would be killed. And they believed that God approved of that. Just glad I didn't live there during that time. I think I would have taken my chances alone.

Probably wore stone masks while they cut you , or did they work 7 but you could only work 6 , extra days wage adds up over 6000 years.
If you have to work 6 days a week , ouch , my own free time worth $$$$$ an hour , do as least work as possible the rest free time , walking my dog through the forest more rewarding than any job .
