Nancy Pelosi’s Recent Stock Purchase Raises Important Ethics Issues For All Of Congress

Lawmakers made hundreds of stock transactions during pandemic, watchdog finds

Snippet....

Last year, former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler was accused of insider trading and profiting off the coronavirus pandemic when she sold between $1.275 million and $3.1 million in stocks right after being briefed in January 2020 about the seriousness of the virus.

It's a bipartisan problem.

The old no-true-dictionary fallacy, eh.
This (my favorite dictionary) will be my
2nd source that confirms my usage....
Definition of vomitory | Dictionary.com
noun, plural vom·i·to·ries.
an emetic.
an opening through which something is ejected or discharged.
Also called vomitorium. an opening, as in a stadium or theater, permitting large numbers of people to enter or leave.

Moving goalposts now?

Vomitorium not vomitory.

And the last sentence was almost there if in an ambiguous way

Misuse of words is not my problem

Same goalposts as always.
I use reliable modern dictionaries....not medieval froggy ones.

I use the standard, world renowned, Oxford English. The one other dictionaries copy and change to suit their local audience

And vomiory and vomitorium are different words, not sure if you noticed that.

Also see Historical Notes on.
Vomitorium - Wikipedia.

That's fine for people who still wear powdered wigs,
& carry snuff boxes. But the language has evolved.
But if you insist, you should contact all those lexicographers
to tell them that they're wrong, & that you know more than
they do. Let me know how you're received.

Why did you omit the part of my post that proves you and your lexicographers to be wrong?

As I have said before vomitorium is an old ( roman/latin ) word for entry/exit of a stadium/amphitheater/any building in which large large crowds can gather. It is not a new word so why are you pushing the irrelevance of language evolving? Just be a true Scotsman admit you got it wrong

Being bloody minded can too.

I really thought you were open to education
I'm not objecting to the existence of other meanings.
But I see more than one in dictionaries. And in the
context of my post, the definition I used was cromulent.

Is "cromulent" in your fancy pants stuffy old Limey wordbook?
