Nonsense. Objective nonsense. The easiest one? Your defending the morals of a guy who had an affair while his wife was recovering from their child's birth, paid the woman hush money, and then lied about it. The rest are at least as false, but you uncritically swallow your tribal talking points. I've really tried to have constructive conversations with you, but you're so committed to looking at a black circle and demanding it's a white square that you can't be reasoned with. I tried. I really did. I'm tired, though, and I'm sorry I'm not strong enough to keep beating my head on your wall. You're all about your side, right or wrong.. If you ever decide you're interested in respectful, evidence based discussion based on critical thought, get someone to message me. I'm done.

The right to privacy of tax return information is literally codified.
But government grants itself somewhat limited access to our returns.
It's of course unavoidable for IRS workers examining our returns.
But IRS personnel can look at returns out of curiosity, albeit with
risk of sanctions if caught & their story is inadequate. And Congress
& the Prez have the power to look at anyone's...including yours.

That doesn’t mean you don’t have a privacy right. People object to requests for information all the time, and many times the objecting party wins.

Here’s an example. Your social security number is in the tax return. Does that mean a government official can just go to the IRS and say, “Give me Joe’s SSN” ??? Of course not.

Our right to privacy isn't specifically codified in the Constitution.
This gives government great leeway in how it may be abused
or protected.

The right to privacy of tax return information is literally codified.
And that code specifies who gets to see your returns and under what conditions. And it specifically and clearly states that when the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee requests to see a return the IRS chief shall provide them.

The same code states that the power to deal with individual tax returns has been delegated to the IRS and the Treasury Secretary shall not interfere.

Black letter law does not change because you don’t like it.

um, wrong
If I were to write you a letter, put it in an envelope with your name and address, affix proper postage and drop it in the mailbox, I cannot claim that it is a violation of my privacy if you open it and read it.

This is exactly what happens when you send in your taxes.

I think one, no make that two questions that has not been asked.
1. Why does the Democrats want to see his tax returns?
2. Are any of those Democrats tax specialist, do any of them have an inkling of what the tax laws are?

1. Because he is the President and Congress has as responsibility to perform oversight

2, Yes.

But for a bully like Trump who loves to play hardball,
Where has he played hardball? Even his cabinet is oppositional towards him, he's challenged at every step, and overall he hasn't gotten much done. If he were playing hardball he'd have his wall by now.
