stories that are not rrue may have the opposite effectMy church has said that the stories were not meant to be historical, but to bring people to God.
"Don’t expect the Old Testament to present a thorough and precise history of humankind. That’s not what the original authors and compilers were trying to create. Their larger concern was to teach something about God—about His plan for His children, about what it means to be His covenant people, and about how to find redemption when we don’t live up to our covenants."stories that are not rrue may have the opposite effect
For example, the ten plagues.stories that are not rrue may have the opposite effect
As i said, untrue stories dont boost credibility. For example, the ten plagues.
I think each set of five could logically follow each other scientifically.
For instance, red clay occasionally broke off from the mountains and could make the water red.
Then the different insects would feed off the dead of each other.
It shows that they knew a lot about what could have happened, making their spiritual story worth investigating.
The real question is whether the spiritual stories are true!
Alright, fair is fair, they don't. But Christianity has evolved to survive this problem anyway. As i said, untrue stories dont boost credibility.
But intricately structured stories draw attention and Christianity thrives on attention. Does that statement work?As i said, untrue stories dont boost credibility.
Intricate? But intricately structured stories draw attention and Christianity thrives on attention. Does that statement work?
This *Should* be a competition to see who's is more interesting:Intricate?
If you go to China you will see these wonderful
dragons.
I could write 20 flood- level stories before you
could draw one good dragon let alone carve it.
Would seeing a few dragons cause you to change religion?
