Yes, I was informed. However, all states do require registration. They can pay when they register the car.Nope, we can renew for 1 or 2 years.

That would be a lump sum payment....not really a fan of that idea, prefer pay as you go but with an EV kind of hard to do.Yes, I was informed. However, all states do require registration. They can pay when they register the car.
My thought exactlyWow. The thought of all those possibly poorly maintained vehicles is kind of frightening
So is the registration based on the value of the car, type of car (EV, fossile), miles driven, or just plain fees?
And as a previous poster indicated, how would you differentiate between car and house?
That could be an option too with a reconciliation when you register. That would be a lump sum payment....not really a fan of that idea, prefer pay as you go but with an EV kind of hard to do.
So all of your electric usage is taxed at a higher rate because you own an EV? Yeah, don't think that's going to sit to well with those that don't go out much. You tax the household of EV owners more. Your car is already registered at a particular address.

Those chemicals are pretty valuable. In a few years all car batteries will be recyclable, some are already.Remember that when you trash that chemical battery every 8 years. You will contribute to a whole new toxic chemistry mountain in the making at the landfill.
That will be great for the environmen..
Wonder what enviromentally friendly equipment they will recycle it with? Those chemicals are pretty valuable. In a few years all car batteries will be recyclable, some are already.
My guess is that it will eventually lead to people complaining about the ever high cost of electricity and things will go back to square one. It's started as a flat fee, that has risen as more and more people switch to ev.

Pay-as-you-go is better, but if you had to base it on one odo reading a year, you could still have it paid out in monthly payments if you wanted, like natural gas equal billing or property tax rolled into a mortgage payment. That would be a lump sum payment....not really a fan of that idea, prefer pay as you go but with an EV kind of hard to do.
The reason I say that is based on the price of corn once ethanol became mandated into fuel. We'll see, I guess.

That's a sure bet. People have always complained and people will always complain. My guess is that it will eventually lead to people complaining about the ever high cost of electricity and things will go back to square one.
And for good reason. Particularly concerning those who consistently scheme at ways to steal your money. That's a sure bet. People have always complained and people will always complain.
I wonder what those plants look like?"Tesla aims to recycle batteries at all its Gigafactory locations, according to its 2021 Impact report.
“We intend to tailor recycling solutions to each location and thereby re-introduce valuable materials back into our manufacturing process,” noted Tesla in its 2021 Impact report. “Our goal is to develop a safe recycling process with high recovery rates, low costs and low environmental impact. From an economic perspective, we expect to recognize significant savings over the long term as the costs associated with large-scale battery material recovery and recycling will be far lower than purchasing additional raw materials for cell manufacturing.”

I used to pay an annual wheel tax as well as fuel taxes, but that was some few years ago when I was a carbon polluter. Are you paying a road tax, or are you just feeling superior with you EV and could care less?
