Question For EV Present and Future Owners

Is electricity not taxed in your country?

I understand only a small percentage of fuel tax goes towards road infrastructure and maintenance.

Its up to the government how they divide tax income among various projects

One should not pay "road tax" for heating one's home. The OP has a fair point, but the solution already exists. Some time in the future people are going to be taxed on the miles that they drive. There will probably also be a weight factor too. If one is driving a five ton Hummer the tax one pays should be greater than if one drives a one ton Smart Car.

So miles times weight times a conversion factor will give a fairly reasonable road tax.

I wonder what those plants look like?
Hopefully, they will never look anything like the abandoned paper mill in Morris near me where 200,000 lithium ion batteries caught fire and exploded....:D
