That is fine. There are a lot of things in science that seem far-fetched. It may be hard to imagine that the same force that causes apples to fall to the ground is responsible for keeping the moon in orbit. It may be hard to imagine that all those tiny little stars in the sky are actually the same size or larger than our sun. It may be hard to imagine that the earth is round and that there are people waking upside down on the other side. It may be hard to imagine that gravity can actually affect the flow of time. It may be hard to imagine that a sub atomic particle can exist in many different places at the same time. I can understand how these things may seem strange and be difficult to understand.i think it's equally as strange to believe the earth is billions of years old or that we came from monkeys and so on. so either way it sounds a bit far fetched but like i said that's just me. i'm done with this cause it feels like i'm goin around in circles with you guys and it's gotten off topic.
But what a tragedy it would be if you were to just stop there. How sad would it be if you just said to yourself, this seems strange to me so I am just going to pretend it doesnt exist. You have to understand that scientists are not just saying that the earth is 4.5 billion years old; they are saying that they have overwhelming evidence that the earth is 4.5 billion of years old from a variety of different scientific disciplines. For you to reject the claim because it seems strange without examining the evidence is ridiculous.
Science is a wonderful and beautiful way of understanding the world you live in. It can open your mind up to new perceptions and new understandings. You say it seems strange but it is so much stranger than you have begun to imagine, and more wonderful. For you to dismiss all this simply because it is strange and far-fetched is absolutely tragic. There is no other word for it tragic.
