President Trump to issue new guidance asserting students' right to pray in schools

My understanding is that students and teachers always had the right to pray in schools, the schools just couldn't tell students and teachers they should pray.

We Never Know

No Slack
Smoke And Mirrors.

Students have always had the right to pray on their own, in public schools. Even out loud.

Teachers can pray too-- just not as teachers.

Nothing Dump has done, changes either of the above.

He is literally painting gold-colored paint over a solid gold statue, here.

For some reason it seems some people keep missing this paragraph which is the whole story behind it all.

"Grogan pointed to the case of a group of middle school students in Texas who were repeatedly told not to pray in their school cafeteria during lunch break by the school principal, a decision that was later reversed by school district officials, to highlight why the updated guidance is needed."

If students really DID have a 'right to prayer,' I'd agree.
The actual law is that as long as it's not disruptive or during instruction, and as long as it's not school led or sponsored, it is so much their right the ACLU has fought and won many cases where Christian students were denied their right to prayer.

Yes.

Indeed it has...but the problem is, Shadow Wolf, that people keep trying to push that, so that the ACLU has had to keep fighting these cases. As you have seen right here, there are plenty of folks who think that the ACLU and other First Amendment advocates are wrong.

Let's be honest and realistic, there are a ton of Americans who wronly believe spanking your kids is illegal, they don't know what impeachment is, and in general suck when it comes to law. They think it's illegal, and indeed students of various faiths have been discriminated against, its just not and school districts consistently lose in court.

Well, true. But as long as 'they' don't LEARN better and keep trying, those of us who do know better still have to defend ourselves in law courts....and debate forums. ;)
