Some may think the Victorians were a bit laughable,
with their excessive correctness.

One properly, for example, would not refer to the
"legs" but rather "limbs" of a table, and, they
should be covered with a table cloth, down to
the ankles, or ah, foot joint.

Ifn there is a future to look back at now, they
will shake their heads at the incredible weirdness
of the used to be.

On the other hand there is a loss of modesty.

IMO, it’s proof Kapernick is anti-American and that Nike are a bunch of wimps.

It’s a sad day when the PC warriors have convinced a major company that the American flag is racist.
Is it being wimpy?
Nike sells millions of shoes to those who buy into Kap's brand of PC.
A company caters to its market.
It's good business to consider demands of influential icons.

Ducey nixes Nike incentives amid Kaepernick-shoe controversy

Governor Ducey isn't happy about Nike's decision.

In a series of tweets early Tuesday, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced that he has ordered the Arizona Commerce Authority to withdraw all financial incentive dollars to encourage Nike to add a manufacturing plant in the Valley.

Nike has planned a massive shoe manufacturing plant in Goodyear, with an initial investment of $184.5 million. The plant would create over 500 full-time jobs.

"Words cannot express my disappointment at this terrible decision. I am embarrassed for Nike," Ducey tweeted early Tuesday morning regarding its decision to nix the Betsy Ross sneakers. "Nike is an iconic American brand and American company. This country, our system of government and free enterprise have allowed them to prosper and flourish.

"Instead of celebrating American history the week of our nation’s independence, Nike has apparently decided that Betsy Ross is unworthy, and has bowed to the current onslaught of political correctness and historical revisionism. It is a shameful retreat for the company. American businesses should be proud of our country’s history, not abandoning it.

"Nike has made its decision, and now we’re making ours.

Yes, it’s being wimpy. They cratered to the PC mob who are slowly chipping away at our history.

If Nike sold a product that was worth the money on it's own merits they wouldn't care about one dudes personal opinion about an American icon.
But their shoes are wildly overpriced because it's more profitable to rely on celebrity endorsement than a superior product. So, their business model puts them at the mercy of people like Kaep.

The PC "mob" is their customer base.
They sell a product which is very image based.
Accuracy, knowledge of, & respect for history are entirely irrelevant.

Their shoes, IMO, are extremely ugly.

But I do like the Hurley brand which is owned by them.

Flag Code of Conduct:
§8. Respect for flag

d. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

A lot of false patriots tut-tutting about **** they don't know crap about.

Who cares. I wear one under my hard hat as a sun blocker. It's dirty and sweaty, and I love it. :)
