While creator may not choose for us to do them it did choose for it to be up to us to decide if we do those things or not.
While I do not condone such actions they are, as I said, part of our darker nature. If creator Really didn't want them to be possible I'm shure they wouldn't be.
The power is in the choise.

oh yes... he does... all to often.... sometimes many times a day.... wierd animal

"Nature" is irrelevant to the morality of an action. Microwave ovens are quite unnatural, using them is not morally wrong.

Masturbation hurts noone and so cannot be labelled morally wrong.

 For me masturbation is definitely wrong. Our sexual organs were made in order to have sexual intercourse with the opposite sex for the purpose of reproduction, family and love. That is actually the main reason why it is there. Masturbating defeats the purpose of our sexual organs, making it an abnormal act. Science say that it is normal, but for me it becomes normal in the world where obcenity, sexual immorality and debauchery reign.

Common sense....

example

Our eyes were made in order to see and to use it in our day to day work. Most of us prefer to use it for hurting someone else or for filling up our own pleasures in life. Those actions make all things immoral.

It is the same with our sexual organs. You can either degrade your self by treating your bodies as sexual objects or honor your self by respecting it.
What would you prefer :?:

Our sexual organs can be used for reproduction purposes. In order that they be used that way, we feel the use of them as a (hopefully) pleasant activity. There is no natural law that we must not use them for pleasure, like there is no natural law forbidding us to look at other pleasant things than possible mates.

Oh please. Masturbation doesn't "defeat the purpose" of sex organs, it keeps them clean and working. As a matter of fact, masturbation even reduces the risk of prostate cancer in men. As for the rest of it, puritanical outlooks on life just sicken me. Sexuality is not something to be hated if it transcends an eternally pregnant female and only missionary position sex. It's a fun behaviour and a good physical workout. We are more than just the sum of our genes, you know.

Our eyes were made in order to see and to use it in our day to day work. Most of us prefer to use it for hurting someone else or for filling up our own pleasures in life. Those actions make all things immoral.

No, our eyes just see, how do you use our eyes to directly hurt someone?

It is the same with our sexual organs. You can either degrade your self by treating your bodies as sexual objects or honor your self by respecting it.

How is having fun with yourself disrespecting it? WHY is it wrong? You haven't actually said why it's wrong, you just said it is.

Also, you made me laugh when you say treating a sex organ like a sex object is wrong, since that is precisely what they are.

:( Masturbation, for me is a waste of time. That fun is a 1 minute thing. You could have used that 1 minute to do greater things such as charity or service to other people ,right :?: Why waste your time :?: Our sex organs are not just "sex objects". Our bodies are not "sex objects" either. We are more than animals and we are more than objects. Why don't we give some sense of dignity to our own selves :?:

I guess if it's only lasting for 1 minute, that could be kinda frustrating.... :?

Tell me James15, do you any sort of activity for fun or purely recreational reasons, such as jogging or playing ball or even reading? And if so why are you wasting your time with such things when you could be doing greater things such a charity or service to other people?

Our sex organs are not sex objects? Then what are they?? Why is masturbating undignified?

Well....our sex organs are a part of a whole. That whole is our body. That body is a part of the human "PERSON" and not just object. That person consists of physical and spiritual aspects. It has dignity and it has freewill. It is a thinking being and is higher than animals. It has the tendency to search for a God and question its origin. It is subject to the universal law, which manifests itself to our own conscience.
What makes a human person special? It knows how to love.
You've seen how great you are... therefore do what is great...

Ok...I have problems with most of that, but that's off topic and I'll leave it for now, but it doesn't explain why masturbating is undignified.

The saints teach that the grace of purity is only given to the humble! "Knowing" what is right-living, and actually living right, are two very different things. Conquering temptation against purity is the work of a lifetime! Everyone, married or single, young or old, is challenged in this area. People fall continually! But, they must not loose heart. Everyone sins. Every human being who has ever lived has suffered identical problems or temptations. Sexual impurity is something that should be rejected, but it is not something to be horribly ashamed of. It's just a very common sin which - like all sin - must be conquered. It is conquered through confession. If someone has contracted the habit of masturbation, sometimes the sudden physical impulse is unavoidable! But consenting to a life style of sin IS avoidable! Consenting to a lifestyle of sin, is damnable! So, the object is to fight the fight! When someone has contracted a habit, they need to recognize it and admit it to themselves and to a confessor. Most of all, they must target that area of their life with continual prayer that they be delivered from temptation! No one can resist such temptations if they entertain them. St. Francis DeSales said that every other temptation must be fought - but the only victor in the war against impurity is the coward - who quickly runs away from the temptation as fast as he can.

St. Therese the Little Flower stated that whenever she felt tempted, she would immediately turn away from the temptation and RUN to Jesus. She would immediately tell Jesus that the enemy was attacking His kingdom! She called to him desperately to defend his kingdom. That "kingdom" was her soul. The "kingdom of God" consists inside the souls of his children. Therese said that Jesus would always drive the tempter away, so Therese never fell! St. Faustina said that she was finally delivered from temptations against purity only after many years of advanced holiness.

God's grace will prevail ... if a person will fight the fight! A person must be prepared to fall a hundred times, and to confess their sins each time. They must admit to their own human weakness, and continually pray not to be put to the test. As people become convinced of their own weakness, they grow in sincere humility. Then, Gods grace prevails! Remember, the grace of purity is only given to the humble! To "prove victorious" in anything, one needs to continually pray to be delivered from temptation! Human beings are dependent upon God in every aspect of their emotional lives. As one grows in his dependence upon God, one learns that he can only be victorious when God Himself delivers. This applies to all temptations, anxieties, or addictions! Vigilance must remain the work of a lifetime! People must never stop seeking the forgiveness and grace of God, asking for his help, getting up and trying again. God forgives a million times a million times! He anticipates men with his grace. He continually gives new strength. He perfects men a step at a time! Not in a month, or a year, but in a life time!

"What ever you are sure of, be sure of this: that you are dreadfully like other people" - James Russell Lowell

"Humility is to make a right estimate of ones own self" - Charles Haddon Spurgeon

"Good people are good, because they've come to wisdom through failure." - William Saroyn

"I am a man. Nothing human is alien to me." - Terence

"There is no meaning to life except the meaning man gives to his life by the correct use of his powers." - Eric Fromm

"My offenses: truly I know them." - Psalm 51

"We find peace only by resisting our passions, not by giving in to them." - Imitation of Christ (Chap.6)

"If you would conquer the world, then conquer yourself. There is nothing more a man can do, and nothing greater." -Unknown

"If you yourself live in continence, do not judge the one who lusts. For if you do, just like him you disobey the law. The one who said "do not lust" also said: "do not judge." - A desert Father

"Understanding is the reward of faith. Therefore, seek not to understand that you may believe, but to believe that you may understand." - Saint Augustine

"Turn to me and be safe all you ends of the earth, for I am God - there is no other. By my own self I swear it, uttering my unalterable decree: to me every knee will bend, and every tongue shall confess saying, 'only in the Lord are there just deeds and power'." - Isaiah 45:20

THE REALITY

Remaining pure is NOT easy. Living a pure life is the hardest thing in the world to do! So, it is NO surprise that people find it extremely difficult live up to Christian ideals. God is a loving father who understands this! He loves His children, and patiently nurtures them. He's always picking them up, dusting them off, and helping them along. But, it must be very clear what is right and wrong! Masturbation is wrong! If you could shoot heroin just once it wouldn't be so bad. But it never works out that way. Likewise, masturbation is not something people just do "occasionally." If the urge is not resisted, it quickly becomes a habit. It's a nasty habit of continually consenting mentally and spiritually to acts of sexual impurity.

It is very true that sexual tension's can be almost impossible to endure! Sometimes they feel unbearable. This is the most difficult generation in human history for widespread, unbridled sexual promiscuity. Human beings ARE sexual creatures! The instinct for sex can seem overwhelming! Sexual images, and pornographic enticements are everywhere! It is a slippery slope! From gorgeous fashion models, to the M-TV culture: the whole civilization is enticed into pride, lust, fornication, adultery, addiction to pornography, and consequently masturbation.

God told the great St. Catherine of Sienna that if He did not uphold her by his grace, there would be no way that she could resist the powerful sexual temptations presented to her by the devil! It was revealed to the Spanish mystic, Venerable Mary of Agreda, that anyone who resisted a powerful sexual temptation overcomes a more difficult test than the test which caused Satan and the other angels to fall! Anyone who resists such a temptation gains more heavenly glory on that one occasion than the angels have! That's why the inheritance of the victorious is eternal glory! At the First Council of the Church in Jerusalem, there were only two things that were decided to be absolutely necessary for Christians: #1) Refrain from fornication -- (which means that Christians MUST remain pure in thoughts, words, and deeds); #2) Not to participate in pagan blood rituals. (Acts 15:29)

Ha, i'm sure they'd get along fine without you for a -gasp- whole minute.

Why waste your time

It's fun, the same reason you "waste your time" on the net or wherever.

Our sex organs are not just "sex objects".

Yes, they're also drainage organs.

Our bodies are not "sex objects" either.

How does masturbation change that?Hint: It doesn't.

We are more than animals and we are more than objects. Why don't we give some sense of dignity to our own selves :?:

How is masturbating undignified? What's ACTUALLY WRONG WITH IT?

Well....our sex organs are a part of a whole.

That doesn't mean using them on your own is wrong in any way.

t has dignity and it has freewill. It is a thinking being and is higher than animals. It has the tendency to search for a God and question its origin. It is subject to the universal law, which manifests itself to our own conscience.
What makes a human person special? It knows how to love.
You've seen how great you are... therefore do what is great...

Blah blah, none of this makes masturbation wrong.

Using the Bible to convince me it's wrong is hardly an argument in my book lol. And if you copy an article, please do the author the justice of providing an link so we may know who wrote it. Thanks. :)

Masturbation is a sin because a person consents in their own mind to take satisfaction from impure thoughts.

Prove it. You don't know what or who I'm thinking about.

This is the sin of those addicted to pornography.

Wrong again. I find no pleasure in pornography.

The act of masturbation is an outward act that confirms that one's heart and mind has consented to an inward act of impurity. Only by consenting to an imagined act of impurity can one attain orgasm. To attain sexual release, a person's will consents to LOVE something that is impure.
So if you're thinking of your SO then it's Ok? lol

The rest is just to fundie for me to answer.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Week (pcaw.org) has compiled information on the issue of.masturbation to prevent prostate enlargement.

Frequent Ejaculation Won't Prevent Prostate Enlargement

Frequent Ejaculation Won't Prevent Prostate Enlargement (3/14/03)
"Use it or lose it" may be good advice when it comes to keeping mental skills sharp and staying in shape, but researchers say it doesn't apply to certain aspects of male anatomy. In fact, a new study debunks the myth that frequent ejaculation can ward off health problems such as prostate enlargement.

Researchers say there's a common myth that "exercising" the prostate might somehow prevent prostate problems. But their study shows no evidence that frequent sexual activity prevents prostate enlargement.

Non-cancerous prostate enlargement, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common problem among older men and can cause symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and weak urine stream. Although this condition is not usually dangerous, if severe and untreated it can lead to kidney problems.

The study, published in the current issue of Urology, followed a group of about 2,000 men between the ages of 40 and 79 and compared their frequency of ejaculation with the prevalence of urinary symptoms reported.

Although men who reported ejaculating at least once a week were less likely to have moderate to severe urinary symptoms, once researchers took the men's age into account, this association was no longer significant. In other words, age was a more significant factor affecting the risk of prostate enlargement than ejaculation frequency.

For example, 33% of men in their 40s who ejaculated less than once a week reported symptoms compared with 31% of men the same age who ejaculated more frequently.

Although this myth has persisted for years, researcher Steven J. Jacobsen of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and colleagues say this is one of the first times it has ever been scientifically evaluated.

"These results should help to debunk the myth that increased sexual activity prevents the exacerbation of symptoms of BPH," they write. "Moreover, no evidence was found that men with BPH are less likely to engage in sexual activity, once ages differences were taken into account."
