Masturbation

well as far as waisting seed goes...
why don't they worry about wasted eggs?
women have a limited supply and once used up thier are no new ones....
men can just whip up a new batch ad infinitum...
Should women try to get pregnant with every egg produced? ouch!

Masturbation also helps to keep men from constantly needing women to find reliese... and vice versa... you don't have to worry so much about if your partner isn't in the mood and so thier is less pressure to having sex. It becomes a couple thing instead of a hes in the mood again sort of thing.
So socially it may help to keep that sort of sexual agression down by relieving it.

Reproduction... what else? The only reason sex feels good is so we'll HAVE it! Otherwise the species would not continue... if, for example, human women (or any other slightly sentient species) had to starve ourselves for days to get pregnant, we probably wouldn't get pregnant often...no incentive to do the act :p

I have a question...What is the purpose of our sexual organs and why are they existing in our bodies?

They're a means to shoot dna at one another till we reproduce. We produce far more than we could ever use though.

sex was nothing bad in Native thinking...
Creator made it fun for both sides, and often it was more for the fun of it than to make babies...
Most animals have a period of 'heat' that makes them want to have sex to reproduce, they ignore it for the most part otherwise... their are exceptions to this.. my dog for instance...
Humanity is lucky to have such a fun pastime ;)

I believe Masturbation is a sin. I have read some of your replies; you have said, "It doesn't hurt anybody, and it's not addictive" It is addictive and it put illicit fanticies into your mind, and it's hard to control what you think about. Masturbation is like marijuana (Sorry about that spelling)--It gives way to other sins. First you start masturbating and all you think about is sex, sex, and more sex, so then you go out and give it a try the first opportunity you get. We need to try to form our consciences to be pure and to focus always on God. I believe I can honestly say this because I am still suffering from this sin and trying to erase it from my life.

Really?? Are you saying this is true for everyone just because this is your experience?

No, we need to form our consciences to focus always on ourselves and other people. Masturbation helps ourselves and doesn't hurt other people, therefore it is perfectly okay. If you believe in God, and believe that God doesn't want you to masturbate, and want to do what God wants, then you shouldn't; but it's unfortunate because God doesn't exist, masturbation is natural, and you're beating yourself up over something that you should just enjoy.

I believe with my whole being that God exists and that you say masturbation is natural, but, as your beliefs may conflict, I believe we are to strive to overcome our natural tendency to sin. Yes it is a natural tendency brought about by the Fall of Adam. We are called to be counter-culteral in a society that tells us that porn, masturbation, and premarital sex are good things. Let me propose this question to you. How is it beneficial to you besides giving you a few minutes of instant gratification? What good are you acomplishing in your life or in other's lives?

Could your name be James?? Anyway, someone else posed a similar question a few pages back and I will respond to you the same I did to him: Do you do any sort of activity for fun or purely recreational reasons, such as jogging or playing ball or even reading? And if so why are you wasting your time with such things when you could be doing greater things such a charity or service to other people?

Reading, jogging, playing ball: all of these thing a benefitial to the body and personal growth. You still did not answer my question as to how masturbation can cause personal growth, all I see is a gate to be thrown open to let in impure thoughts and actions. How is masturbation like reading, jogging, playing ball. I don't imagine that you would put masturbation an a survey that asked you to list hobbies would you?

Because it makes you feel good and it is phyiscal activity. It harms no one, and unless you can read other people's minds and see what they are thinking, you don't know what they are thinking of.

There is no 'sin' concept in my religion, so no need to fear masturbation.

I'll admit that I do it, but I'm not addicted to it. Unless a few times a month is addicted, I eat chocolate more often than that... ;)

Not under normal conditions. Only in people with disorders like OCD does it become an addiction, but with these peoeple it's a psychological addiction as with anything else(like washing hands).

and it put illicit fanticies into your mind, and it's hard to control what you think about.

"Illicit" meaning what, exactly? Do you really think repression does better for you mentally, and makes you more healthy? No qualified doctor or psychologist or psychiatrist will advise repression over therapy of dangerous fantasies, and just having them as fantasies doesn't actually hurt anyone.

Masturbation is like marijuana (Sorry about that spelling)--It gives way to other sins.

Weed only supplies a gateway to other drugs due to it's criminalisation; the only source for it is to either grow your own or from people in the crime business. Marijuana does not lead to other drugs automatically, the ease of buying other drugs from the same source as the weed does.

First you start masturbating and all you think about is sex, sex, and more sex

While you're masturbating. Why would you think about it all the time when you're not? This is a slippery slope fallacy.Like saying "if you eat, soon enough all you will think about will be eating".

, so then you go out and give it a try the first opportunity you get.

See above.

We need to try to form our consciences to be pure and to focus always on God. I believe I can honestly say this because I am still suffering from this sin and trying to erase it from my life.[/quote

Hahahaha! It's not a sin, there is no need to feel guilty about it, your repression is what's causing you to think about it all the time and to feel so guilty about it, not the act itself.

es it is a natural tendency brought about by the Fall of Adam.

Prove it.

We are called to be counter-culteral in a society that tells us that porn, masturbation, and premarital sex are good things.

Where? This is right wing christian BS that has no basis in reality.

Let me propose this question to you. How is it beneficial to you besides giving you a few minutes of instant gratification? What good are you acomplishing in your life or in other's lives?

Er, you already answered it, you gave yourself pleasure and possibly, if you're male, reduced the risk of prostate cancer.

The same applies for picking your nose or wiping your bum after you use the toilet, i mean, what good are you actually doing?

Reading, jogging, playing ball: all of these thing a benefitial to the body and personal growth. You still did not answer my question as to how masturbation can cause personal growth,

WHAT DOES IT MATTER? What's so wrong about not doing those things and doing something else that does not cause any harm?

It does obvious good in that it vents an exercises your reproductive organs and frees up mental repression and can calm you down.

all I see is a gate to be thrown open to let in impure thoughts and actions.

Repeat with me: slippery slope fallacy. P.S JAMES, you've still not defined "impure."Why have you made a sock puppet account anyway? Did you feel that guilty about it?

How is masturbation like reading, jogging, playing ball. I don't imagine that you would put masturbation an a survey that asked you to list hobbies would you?

Not unless it was an option, I don't give it that much thought, it's pretty much like picking your nose or ears but i get to indulge my imagination.

who defines Impure?

European society is well known for its historical prudishness when it comes to sex.

Many other cultures were not so puritanical.
