Dem: Bernie
This is primarily because he'd be less likely to get us into another disastrous war.
As for his "socialism", he's no greater a risk than Hillary.

He wants to redistribute wealth fairly so that the middle and lower class can stop getting screwed by the American oligarchy, yes.

So doesn't that mean a big government presence has to be in place to rob those that have produced the wealth just to arbitrarily give it to those who can not or will not produce to this level? Doesn't this go against Libertarian views of smaller government and personal freedom?

I vote Libertarian to steer the country in that direction.
I know what it'll never become what I want.
But if a nudge is all I can accomplish, I'll take it.

If that is the case why would you support a person that blatantly wants the government to permeate almost every aspect of your life? And by default this could only be accomplished at the end of a gun.

Because the gov already does that, he's just advocating that they do so in my favor and for my benefit.
Fix the gov then make it fade out bit by bit, that's the ideal plan here.

Are you even reading what you are writing? You will never "fade out" any government program. Do not fool yourself, Bernie wants to control you more than any other candidate out there. If, for example, you invent some device that changes the world for the good while at the same time making you a wealthy person Bernie is going to take your money and give it to someone who may sit around drinking beer all day. It's not going to matter to Ol' Bern that you voted for him.
