Conservatives are always pushing for a "flat tax." It sounds so simple: One easy rate, so we all pay the same, easy to calculate... Get rid of deductions and lower the tax rates. But is it really fair?

No, it is completely unfair. People who are impoverished should be given money during tax time. The millionaires and billionaires are fine. They have more than they need but some people have less than they need. These people should be given a break, especially a tax break. I am totally against a flat tax.

Yes by definition. However we do not live on an egalitarian world hence why economic classes exist. Government knows where the money is coming from and who has it. Politicians know this too. They also know in a democratic system the low and middle class voters are necessary to win an election hence why tax rates will increase/decrease to get those votes. Both sides bribe the voter with government money using different programs. Both bribe people with their own income as well.

There's nothing wrong with free trade, but that's not what China does when she steals the intellectual property of foreign businesses for them to be able to do business in China.

Imo, a value added tax is better than an income tax, because this taxes consumption rather than productivity. Individual consumers as well as large corporations pollute the environment, putting people's health and safety in peril. Imo, it's unfair that a large tech giant like Amazon consuming our Earth's precious resources pays no federal taxes.

As long as it's percentage based. I think it's fair. No one will pay more or less comparatively to their earnings.

If I were consuming more of our limited precious Earth resources than what you consume, then yeah, it's fair the government makes me pay for my consumption and reward you for your conservation of our planet.

I agree with the basic thesis of incentivizing hard work. Right now it's the opposite with hard work, wages, being taxed at a higher rate than investments.

But also the tax rate is not a prime motivator for many people. There are many who live in high tax California for other reasons than the tax rate.

So if we had a serious reality-based discussion about what really motivates people to work hard and how to incentivize that, count me into the discussion.

Two things incentivize harder work, less regulation and higher pay.

Ill give you a simple example how i kbow this is true.

CDL lisences. The regular class A you can haul everything except hazerdious materials.

If you want to haul hazerdious materials, you need a extra endorsement on your lisence. This means, extra DOT tests and extra fees. Also extra,regulations put on you as you haul these materials. Granted, having this endorsement pays more money, but due to the fact it adds more regulations, i choose not to get it.

Thus the extra regulations decentivize me in getting the endorsement.

So, government needs to deregulate and pay for more work needs to go up with taxes not going up.

Thats ghe recipe for a massively prosperious and debt free country. Period.

No by filing paper work claiming the item is their property as the developer when it is not. Alternatively one can use an item without having to honor royalties. For example a song. One could use a whole song from X artist(s) without having to pay a fee. A item like say an Iphone by cloning it (copying it) then selling it without the brand markup.

It would be consider theft. More so the thief would be profiting from use in China due to registration in China such as protection from the very theft by the applicant.

There are millions of poor people that go to work everyday, but that gap between them and the rich is not closing. It’s opening. Why? a tiny percentage of individuals control the vast majority of wealth and income. As a whole, USA has an unequal distribution of wealth. And flat tax system is not gonna help at all! Because A flat tax system would hit every taxpayer with the same tax rate, regardless of how much they earn. Guess who flips the bill to fill the gap of the tax cut enjoyed by the better off....

Then the poor can move up the ladder or change careers or open a business or save money, become debt free.

Theres many ways the poor can get to where the ritch are.

The answer is not to punish the ritch by giving more to the poor. If it wernt for the ritch, the poor would be even more poor because the ritch has created wealth through business and inovation. They gave jobs to the poor. You tax the ritch too much, they will leave the country or they will higher less workers or they will pay them less or they will give them no benefits.

Thats the results of your well intended socialist policie proposals.

The answer is tax everyone fair and flat. Stop envying the ritch and start working as hard as they do and youl get to where they are.

Let me give you a illustration. Skinny guy goes to a gym, sees big muscle men and says to himself "boy it be nice if i had that muscle. But, instead of doing what those muscle heads did to get there, the skinny guy says 'there all on steriods, so whats the use'.

Likewise, instead of tearing down the ritch by saying there greedy no good for nothings, who need to give me more. Say rather, the ritch gave me jobs, if government taxed them less, they then would have more money in ORDER TO PAY ME MORE!
