That is not a loan issue than as per afford. They do not want the debt, nothing more.

The result is less people 'making it' as doctors, especially in lower pay but higher need positions

Yawn. Ignore the multiple programs which medical professions can use to help with loans. Ignores public vs for-profit. Ignores market demand. Ignores student choice in it's own citation. Ignores that he lives in NYC (cost of living) thus his choice of residence which is his problem. Ignores issue of wages completely. Never addresses why tuition increased instead demands government pays for it without question. Ignores school choice by the students. Never looks at spending habits of students nor those with debt.

FYI Canadian doctors are taking a pay cut, willingly, while there is no free university up here. Odd how they do not care about student loans while the US does.... Think about it.
