servant of God
Hi, I'm new here - of course. I'm a (very) conservative Lutheran, not affiliated with ELCA - my affiliation is Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Why am I here? I don't know, other than I read a few posts and want to be able to respond sometimes. What do I believe? I believe the Bible is 100% Word of God, written by men, but inspired by God, 100% true. Not just a 'guide to life'. I believe that the only reason my soul is saved is because Jesus died on the cross for my sins (as well as for the sins of the whole world) He proclaimed victory over Satan, and rose again. I am a sinner, no better than anyone else in this world. I believe the believers in this world go to heaven when they die, and the unbelievers go to hell. I also realize this is not a very popular view in this day and age, but my belief is not about what is popular, but what God says. I know that God commands me to go and preach the Gospel to all people - this is hard for me to do, I'm not a very good witness for God, even tho I can do something as simple as invite someone to church, I hesitate. Maybe something I say here might just cause the Holy Spirit to work in someone's heart and strengthen their faith.
