I have seen or read numerous reports about how Afghanistan is facing serious economic collapse and especially a crisis in healthcare. The nation has been ruled by the Taliban for about a year now and the state of affairs has declined and on the verge of collapse. This report by SKY News shows how the biggest children hospital in Afghanistan is over crowded, with over 500 children in a facility built for 300.
One year on from the Taliban takeover, crisis grips Afghanistan's biggest children's hospital
The hospital can't treat most of the children and the staff can only do their best as they watch children die. Apparently there is no international support. I do not know if international aid is being refused by the Taliban or as part of international sanctions. I have to assume it is the Taliban as I can't believe there is no aid for these children.
The Taliban seem more interested in maintaining their rule than helping the citizens of Afghanistan.
