Now I am sure there are those in ISIL that do believe they are Muslim and some do not. However I want to know what you think. I believe that those who think ISIL is Islamic in any way cherry pick words from the Koran and ignore others. Yeah Extremists do that believe it or not. And those who do not are just lunatics wanting to find some way to kill, rape, and inflict pain and "get away" with it.

By the way here is some good news.

Yes. No one is denying that. I just think looking at how they think may turn out to be an interesting discussion. Most of the time we, myself included, talk more on their actions but not their thoughts. I wanted to make a thread talking about their mind frame.

I believe ISIL doesn't exist anymore, the Syrian government will take control over Syria and that was
due to the full support from their allies (Iran, Hezbollah & Russia)

I believe the guys in the ISIL are working for money, they're mercenaries.

ISIS.

You must take a listen to all or more of his speeches to get a feel. Also, dialog with members.

They very very rarely even cherry pick verses from the Quran. Most of their ideology come from ahadith. Especially the most famous, most authentic mutawatir hadith.

I believe we all know what Mutawatir Hadith is. It means mass communicated. Many traditions, many people, many companions say the same thing.

Martyrdom

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, "Nobody who dies and finds good from Allah (in the Hereafter) would wish to come back to this world even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it, except the martyr who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to the world and get killed again (in Allah's Cause)."

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "A single endeavor (of fighting) in Allah's Cause in the afternoon or in the forenoon is better than all the world and whatever is in it. A place in Paradise as small as the bow or lash of one of you is better than all the world and whatever is in it. And if a houri from Paradise appeared to the people of the earth, she would fill the space between Heaven and the Earth with light and pleasant scent and her head cover is better than the world and whatever is in it." - Sahih al-Bukhari, 4:52:53

Jihad

It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihid died the death of a hypocrite. 'Abdullah b. Mubarak said: We think the hadith pertained to the time of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) - Sahih Muslim, 20:4696

Murdering those who don't follow your creed

Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have." - Sahih al-Bukhari, 1:8:387

Fight in the last hadith quoted is Fee Sabeelillah which actually is work for God, many have translated it as Fee Sabeelillah, well nevertheless, these are excellent playing fields for the practice and building of ISIL/Boko Haram and similar looney goons.

Though I do not wish to discuss the science of authentication etc, there is a concept called Mutawathir which means mass communicated stories. More people say it, the more authentic it is.

"I have been commanded to fight people until they say 'there is no God but Allah (the God)'"

If you listen to Baghdadis speeches you will hear him say all three of these concepts a lot. He repeats Fee Sabeelillah. Thats how they are brainwashed.

Peace.

So why exactly would someone who doesn't identify as a Muslim support the installation of an Islamic State? And why would ISIL accept non-Muslims?

What I mean is that they will say they are a Muslim and act like a "Muslim" but not truly believe it.

It is my understanding that Wahabism is seen with considerable suspicion by most non-Wahabis, and that it is relates somehow with falafism and/or salafism. Also, it seems to be strong (strongest?) in Saudi Arabia.

Given the choice, most Muslims would probably emphasize that they are not Wahabis. Although it is complicated to actually openly disapprove of fellow Muslims. That seems to be at the very least very unpleasant for most Muslims.

Unfortunately, that is about as much as I understand of the matter. I would welcome clarifications or corrections.

I believe the heads of the group aren't and are merely using fundamentalism for political goals. I don't quite know for the average supporter.
Any particular reason why they are not expected to be true believers?

Also, why would people who don't think of themselves as Muslims engage into what is from all appearances a war to the death for the glory of Islam?

This is really one of the most brain dead things I've heard you chirp on RF.

Just because you failed to get a date doesn't mean you have to resort to insults.:tongueclosed:
I know, I shouldn't expect the intellectual content of conversations on RF to be very high. Me bad. If only the original comment wasn't so patently absurd.

What I mean is that they will say they are a Muslim and act like a "Muslim" but not truly believe it.
I think I get it. This is a variation of the no true Scotsman fallacy. In other words, no true muslim would do such things. Is this what you are babbling about?
