Santa is not God and the father of the messiah Jesus. So who is he anyway???? Since he's not from the scriptures he must be an invention from Satan's earthly organization whom the book of Revelation states is "misleading the entire inhabited earth".Bells for angels? Where is that in the scriptures??? Pine tree with ornaments on it. Yup the apostles and the disciples did that but I don't remember seeing it in the LXX, Septuagint or in aramaic. Yule log, wrapping paper, mistle toe, stockings, etc. Yup, Jesus told his disciples all this in the upper chamber on the night of the passover. We shouldn't lie to our children and ourselves just because someone else says so. We should look to the scriptures for the answers. Jesus never said to celebrate his birth. Jesus told his apostles to keep eating the unleavened bread and drinking the wine in rememberance of his death and not his birth on the night of Nisan 14. He, Jesus, didn't lay out the details for "Christmas". The word, "Christmas" isn't written in the Bible or any other source of the period when Christians of the period walked the earth.

Jehovah's Witnesses think Satan moved the star that appeared to the Magi astrologers so they must be correct right? No way! How can Satan have managed to move an object out in space??? Nope, the star was a sign from God most definitely. Check out the book: The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived. (published by Jehovah's Witnesses)

But Christmas is the work of the Devil. December 24 and 25 line up with only one religious organization, Catholics and not with the holy scriptures.

The apostle Peter is proven not to be the first Pope by the deed Jesus performed to his mother-in-law, curing her of her sickness, so the Catholics must be wrong with their "Christ Mass" celebration if they are incorrect about the first Pope.

    Douay-Rheims
    (Matthew 8:14)
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother lying, and sick of a fever:

    (Matthew 8:15)
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose and ministered to them.

I don't remember Jesus telling anyone the details about Christmas. The word, Christmas, doesn't even appear in any of the English translations of the holy scriptures so that can't be it. And what about those reindeer? Or visiting every Christian household in one night to bring gifts like the Magi did for Joseph and Mary because it was a custom back then?! No, no, no. Celebrating a holiday that Jesus never said to do so and one that doesn't appear any where in the scriptures at all is ludicrous. Just makes money for someone else who doesn't believe in our heavenly father God and his only begotten son, Jesus.

Makes Christians look like idiots. Listening to people instead of the scriptures we say we read and obey. Christmas should be outlawed. Give gifts because you can. Don't do it because someone says the son of God would have like to have it done. The only begotten son of God already said his peace. Celebrate his death. Believe the scriptures and not the contrivance of men.

First: Wow, that's a pretty hardcore accusation; that Catholics are "not with the holy scriptures".

Second: I don't remember Jesus telling anyone about "Christianity" either. That word was only conceived after his death; as was "Christmas".

Really, no offense intended, but that seems a bit much. Besides, didn't Jesus say "Judge not, lest ye be judged"? You seem to be judging others pretty harshly in this rant regarding Christmas.

Since Satan is the father or the lie and everything about Christmas is a lie one would be siding with Satan if you partook of anything to do with Christmas. A thorough investigation of the Hebrew-Aramaic scriptures or the Greek scriptures reveals nothing about the celebration of the messiah's birth or present giving except a custom that the Jews did for important persons.

And I'm not judging. I'm relaying facts from the scriptures. The Catholics believe that the Apostle Peter was the first Pope on the basis that he wasn't married. The scripture in Matthew tells a different story. It tells that Jesus cured Peter's mother-in-law. That's not judging that's called enlightening. If the founder of their religion isn't who they say he is then they the Catholics have started off on the wrong foot and Jesus warned of false prophets and false messiah's.

There can only be one faith anyway since the holy scriptures say the rest are false prophets and false messiahs. And even if the word derived from the word Kristos came afterwards, the fact of Peter having a wife when Popes don't is a serious blurb.

Jesus also said to make sure one checked every interpretation of the scriptures to see that they were so. So I'm following a commandment from Jesus which superceeds "stop judging". Look it up. :)

Well, if in this case, 'agents of evil' are the ruling Christian authorities, please- by all means- determine that this is so. No, Christ did not mention or support Christmas. It simply became a way of carrying on pagan traditions (the sun is born was turned into the son is born) and making them 'officially' non-pagan. How delightful that it was the church authorities, leading us down the path the hell, in what appears to be your view!

    Also, in this passage,
It rather does sound like you managed to find a translation that decided we should be anti-Semitic. I have trouble justifying this to myself when Christianity is based around worshipping a Jewish man.

No, really? I would have never known had you not told me.

By that logic, you're using something made by Satan--a computer! It's not mentioned in the Bible, either, so it must be bad. Right? Right.

I've always thought the same thing, but along different lines.

'Jello' wasn't written in the Bible or any other source of the period when Christians (and everyone else, for that matter) walked the earth.

Christmas originates in celebrating the longest night of the year, the winter solstice. Satan makes the winter solstice?

Protestants even less so, but that's another topic.

Just like Jello. Jello is right up there with Christmas on the 'things that should be banned' list.

Because doing things like giving to charity is selfish, and Jesus doesn't want us doing that, now does he?

I don't think some people need any help from holidays to look like idiots, Christians and nonChristians alike.

It was originally outlawed in the American colonies. Didn't sit too well with people, apparently.

Okay, now you're just getting a little preachy. I don't believe in the Bible, you don't believe in the Eddas. Fair 'nough?

    .

I agree with that to the full extent. And the porn sites are his work.

In my book it is, but maybe not the "believer's".

First of all let me ask t3gah, what exactly are you a believer of? You speak that we must not lie to our children. But what exactly do you call forcing religion down a child's throat and telling them it "has to be done"? Or they will go to hell. Where they will set them on fire and burn them and then torture them?

I do not possess any hostility by the way.

OK, I'll bite... What possible evil purpose does Satan have in foisting Christmas and Santa upon us? What evil is done by Christmas, Santa, Rudolf, etc...?

I guess all that prayer was in vain.

You are kidding right? Please say this was a joke, please.

Are you aware of the reason for celebrating The mass of Christ on December 25? It was to help convert pagans to Christianity, they were used to celebrating at this time, so the church decided to celebrate Christ's birth at this time.

I don't even know what to say to this.

You know what, God didn't stop the shephards from coming, the angels from anouncing Jesus's birth, and didn't stop three wise men from coming to witness it and bring gifts, God even had a star that led them to it.

I'm not an alarmist, but because of what I've learned from this thread, I plan this Christmas to wear a cap made out of tin foil in order to protect me against the Satanic radiations of Santa and his diabolical reindeer. I urge everyone else to do the same.

Okay, maybe I'll express my view on this subject. I accept that the Christmas invention is a mixture of Christianity and Paganism. My question is this: why can't we separate the secular observance portrayed in myths like Santa Claus, gift-giving, reindeer, etc. from the true religious aspects of the holiday? No, Jesus wasn't born on Dec 25th, but he was born on some date. What is the harm in celebrating the birth of Jesus? No Christian is required to observe it as a solemn holy day. As for Santa Claus: of course he can't find out who's been naughty or nice, but he does represent a couple of Christian virtues. The first one is giving alms to the poor without all of the hoopla accompanying it. Right? He comes down the chimney at night, leaves the gifts anonymously, and exits before anyone awakes and discovers him. And 'Santa'- the word means saint. Don't we all want to be saints?
I definitely don't want to promote using this myth and others like it in your religious observance, but as a fun little, harmless addition I see no need to excise it either.

I'm not an expert at anything and have a lot to learn in this lifetime...but come on...Christmas is of satin??? If that's how you see it then I won't say you have no right to that thought but I didn't live back in umteethbillion year of whenever these things came about...Christmas for me is celebrating Christs birth...did I tell my kids about Santa and go along with the lie...yep...why? Well, I felt we were strong enough in our beliefs that we could have some fun...I told my kids about Santa being just a kind toy maker a long time ago...I won't tell you the whole story but I NEVER took CHRIST out of Christmas by sitting them on Santie's lapfor a picture...it was just a part of fun...My heart feels Christmas is to me the celebration of Christs birth...Santa is like folklore...St.Nick I imagine never intended to replace Christ in anyones eyes.

Just my opinion, don't mean any harm to anyones feelings...I'll not judge what's in someones heart in what they do...If I screw up I must be the one to stand before the Lord and accept responsibility for MY actions.:)

I think most Christians are aware that Christmas is not the actual birth of Christ and I think many of those know that the church hijacked the pagan winter solstice as a way of pulling the pagans into the observance of Christianity. Since we don't know Christ's actual birthday, it seems one day is as good as the next.

You've lost me on how this is the work of the devil though since I see far more generosity and good will from people at this time of year than at any other.

Shoot, I wish I would have seen this thread earlier. It seems that the pagan/xmas connection has already been established. Darn. Funny, I was just explaining this to some people a few days ago (not about the Satan=Santa thing) but the Pagan connection (I thought they were gonna cry:p ).

Folks, I am certainly glad the Older Testament is not any longer in effect, because the December 25 celebration is the one condemned in Isaiah 63. But, I guess since the unchanging God Changed his mind we are free to do whatever we want to. Right? ;)

Spreading lies about using Christmas as an excuse to celebrate the Messiah Jesus' birth. To propagate more lies. To use the excuse that doing so reveals Christian qualities except for the lie part. To use the main excuse that it's the charity that counts when it's still a lie.

Satan seduced Eve and Adam to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad because he offered them power of knowing over doing the right thing. Making up excuses to defend the reason to turn a blind eye to the lies of the whole Christmas thing is falling for a trap that Satan started being the 'father of the lie' and all...

You are no longer a Christian if you are a liar. The scriptures point out that Liars will not inherent the Kingdom.

    (Revelation 21:5-8)
5 And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true. 6 And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part [shall be] in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
