"Cargo cultism" is a misunderstanding of cause and effect.
it creates the delusion of idolatry. that self is incapable of such power.Perhaps they are limited. But what's the harm?

plants have consciousness. plants do not have brains. bacteria have consciousness. they don't have brains. it's irrefutable.Sometimes it looks to me like people who insist on arguing that consciousness is not a function of brains are inclined to make apparently conscious expressions that seem to support their argument.

Trump supporters are, I theorise, largely a cargo cult; "Trump is my idea of what a rich and powerful person is like, so if I support and enable him, maybe I'll be rich and powerful too". Usual caveats, not all Trump voters, and it's largely subconscious, but I do suspect that explains a lot of it.What's this have to do with cargo cults?
