are most believers that focus on the form at the expense of the consciousness, cargo cultists? they believe the body came before the consciousness?

What's this have to do with cargo cults?
"Cargo cultism" is a misunderstanding of cause and effect.

its the worship of consciousness in other form; as if self isn't capable of learning this technology, or capable of it.

it creates the delusion of idolatry. that self is incapable of such power.

Based on this definition, and everything I've read about cargo cults, No.

    car·go cult
    noun
    1. (in the Melanesian Islands) a system of belief based around the expected arrival of ancestral spirits in ships bringing cargoes of food and other goods.

I couldn't make the connection either.

    It comes across as unrelated.

the problem is that the worshipers believe that they are incapable of same. of learning to be capable of; so they worship something apart from self and ignore that the knowledge, the same spiritual, mental event is capable of self.

Sometimes it looks to me like people who insist on arguing that consciousness is not a function of brains are inclined to make apparently conscious expressions that seem to support their argument.

plants have consciousness. plants do not have brains. bacteria have consciousness. they don't have brains. it's irrefutable.

Trump supporters are, I theorise, largely a cargo cult; "Trump is my idea of what a rich and powerful person is like, so if I support and enable him, maybe I'll be rich and powerful too". Usual caveats, not all Trump voters, and it's largely subconscious, but I do suspect that explains a lot of it.
