I think it is more like sacrificing pawns because you think the other side’s King is a cool guy and you want to do a real estate deal some time in the future.Sacrificing pawns to get the Queen.
Would you have considered North Vietnam an American ally while that was going on? Think hard.Bounties have been placed on American service members in many instances. The last one I remember was Vietnam.
So much for "support the troops."Sacrificing pawns to get the Queen.
Well even though you are being somewhat of an unmentionable word I will respond to your sophomoric question.Would you have considered North Vietnam an American ally while that was going on? Think hard.
About the same as my opinion of Hanoi Jane. What would you have thought if, while that was going on, Johnson or Nixon was pushing to normalize trade with North Vietnam and to get North Vietnam into the G8?
So much for "support the troops."
I dare you to go up to an active duty soldier or a veteran and call them a pawn.

@Father Heathen might suggest that, but I'll wager it's unnecessary.North Vietnam wasn't a nuclear power. War with Russia would likely mean BILLIONS of deaths. We should do anything necessary to avoid a nuclear war, and if that means licking Putin's boots, then we should lick Putin's boots.
A veteran may have learned that by now.So much for "support the troops."

Who would be more keenly aware than a veteran?A veteran may have learned that by now.
Well, I hope that Putin avoids stepping in dog grenades in his yard. You know I deplore book lickin'. Trump keeps Putin's boots (among other things) thoroughly clean with his tongue. Avoiding war, especially nuclear war, is obviously the preferred route, but I don't foresee it necessitating appeasement. I doubt Russia wants to deal with retaliatory nukes, either. There's the legend of the secret tapes depicting Russian prostitutes peeing in Trump's mouth, and that's the apparently the leverage Putin uses over Trump to keep him servile. It might explain why he uncritically "trusts" Putin over our own intelligence agencies.
He probably looks Trump in the eyes as he steps in them on purpose.Well, I hope that Putin avoids stepping in dog grenades in his yard.
About "boot licking"....does it apply to any politicianHe probably looks Trump in the eyes as he steps in them on purpose.
About "boot licking"....does it apply to any politician
with an affinity for any person or group?
Does Biden lick BLM's boots?
Does Hillary lick Israel's boots?
I just wonder how general this tongue on footwear is.
But little Donny boy IS trying to get Russia into the G8, ever since altering the planks of the GOP convention platorm in 2015 to favor Putin’s Russia. You remember them? The one’s the analogy was about? The one’s paying and supplying the terrorists to kill our young men and women?......
. However, the last time I checked we were and are not trying to make economic deals with the Taliban, or any of the terrorist groups in the last few years, therefore your question is a moot point.
That technique has been tried many times throughout human history. It always ends in the boot-wearer getting bolder, more powerful, and more dangerous. Multiple more effective techniques are available.North Vietnam wasn't a nuclear power. War with Russia would likely mean BILLIONS of deaths. We should do anything necessary to avoid a nuclear war, and if that means licking Putin's boots, then we should lick Putin's boots.
No, I think if a name applies to one, thenLIke I've said before, the only people I've called "bootlickers" are those whose who support soandso or suchandsuch in a blind, uncritical, idolizing manner as if they were beyond reproach. Pretty clear cut criteria. I'm sure you agree this is an irrational way to regard others, especially parties and politicians.
"No" what? Of course "bootlicker" is an apt term for anyone displaying such behavior. I'm not understanding what you're taking issue with. No, I think if a name applies to one, then
it applies to others exhibiting the same traits.
No issue at all."No" what? Of course "bootlicker" is an apt term for anyone displaying such behavior. I'm not understanding what you're taking issue with.
No issue at all.
I'm even expanding the application of tootsie tasting.
