I have been reading these posts and find them interesting. I believe it is not up to others to decide whether or not another persons reasons for living or suiciding are valid. My pain may not seem much to another and another's may not seem much to me, my pain may be psychological and another's physical or visa-versa, so who am I to decide whether their reasons are valid or not. Just because we are born doesn't necessarily mean we love this life and want to be here. Some people have certain beliefs, other people different beliefs. It is an individual choice and for those who choose death, believing it's the end, or that there is heaven or whatever, the choice belongs to the individual. I think each of us must respect each others right to make their own choices. As you can see in the first post I placed here I have my beliefs and expect others whether they agree or not with me will respect my right to my beliefs, as I in turn respect others rights to their beliefs. Suicide prevention programs and such like have a place and perhaps a troubled person may seek help from these places and get what they need and perhaps a person may exhaust the avenues open to them without finding any reason to change their mind. Those running suicide prevention programs are doing what they believe is needed, those contemplating suicide may choose to turn to them for help, but in the end whatever happens is the choice of the individual.
