Are There Any Religious Ascetics On These Forums?

I'm vegetarian, not vegan, but yes.

Also, non-violence, honesty, solitude, and renunciation of possessions.
Celibacy is the Elephant in the Room. The World is Obsessed/Crazed with Sex and Perverted Sex. I notice you don't mention whether you are Celibate or not. I Am Celibate. Are you Celibate?

I Am Celibate, Vegan, Free From Alcohol and Free from Drugs. You don't mention whether you are Free From Alcohol and Free From Drugs also. It sounds like my Rejection of the World is more Strict than your Rejection.

There are no elephants. It was included in your previous post to which I answered "yes."

Are you Celibate?
Again, yes.

This was also included in my "yes."

I was unaware this was a contest.

Likewise, you make no mention of non-violence, honesty, solitude, and renunciation of possessions. It would appear I'm ahead by three on your strictness scale. ;)

In all seriousness, there are many paths to liberation. Mine and yours are two of but many. I bow to your commitment to your austerities.

Truth and Lies can be found everywhere. What is your Religion? Do you have a Religion or Philosophy?
Christian. Something happened recently that caused me to go back, along with some realizations. Maybe I'll talk about that later in a thread, but not right now.

Much appreciate you clarifying that you are Celibate, Free From Alcohol and Free from Drugs like myself. Your answer before on the question was not Explicit, you only stating that your are Vegetarian and not Vegan. Also when I use the term Drugs I mean both Pharmaceutical Drugs and Recreational Drugs. Are you Free From both Pharmaceutical Drugs and Recreational Drugs?

In Christendom almost all the 2.4 Billion Christians are dependent on Pharmaceutical Drugs and Recreational Drugs. Any Christians on these forums want to challenge this statement?

Recreational drug use

"...Common recreational drugs include caffeine, commonly found in coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chocolate; alcohol, commonly found in beer, wine, cocktails, and distilled spirits; nicotine, commonly found in tobacco, tobacco-based products, and electronic cigarettes; cannabis and hashish (with legality of possession varying inter/intra-nationally);..."

Yes, most certainly this is a Contest. Christian Gnostics are Competitive in the Right Way Being Spiritually Competitive. In Competition the opponents Elevate each other to greater and greater heights. This is what you call Healthy Competition.

Yes, I Am Non-Violent and putting Premium on Honesty. I practice the Law of Moses. I have Solitude living alone in busy city London, England. You have bettered me on the Possessions. How do you live without Possessions? You can have Earthly Possessions without being Attached to them. Elohim/God sustains me by my working for a living. How are you sustained?

This is a Critically Serious discussion.

You don't appear to be a Real Christian, as you have not Proudly Promoted the Faith in your Profile.

When you are ready can talk about the experience keeping anything private that you don't want to disclose. It can be of great value to the reader.

I have high blood pressure, and it is controlled by one dose of lisinopril hydrochlorothiazide daily. I left caffeine behind, but realized it was keeping me regular (from a digestive standpoint), so I do drink coffee in the morning to maintain regularity. I see no point in not treating medical conditions when possible.

I have no interest in completion. I'll be glad to share my practices with you, and if you want to adjust your standards accordingly to compete with them, that's your prerogative. You're not my opponent.

I have only what I need to survive. I'm semi-retired and work as a recruiter part time from home, which gives me enough income for rent and food. Over the last couple of years, I have bequeathed all of my possessions, including my house, to my daughter. I have only my car, because it's a necessity where I live.

This is a Critically Serious discussion.
I don't do critically serious. I find humor in practically everything. If that's a problem for you, you can feel free to disengage me here and now.

As if I care what a admitted racist thinks about being a "real Christian" is. I also don't need any advice from you. Mind your business.

Elohim/God keeps me Healthy and only Spiritual Medicine is used when illness, such as cold or flu, arises. Sicknesses are Messages from Elohim/God to change your Moral Behaviour and if you don't listen Elohim/God smites you with more Serious Illness down the road.

Anything that you are teaching that is Satanic is My Opponent. The Devil/Satan is the Opponent of Elohim/God. It appears you are the one that should adjust your standards because Elohim/God has given me Higher Moral Standards than you. I Am Vegan and Drug Free while you are Vegetarian and Drug Taking.

Therefore, you do have possessions because you cannot survive without them. The Clothes you have on your back are possessions, the food you have are possessions to consume, the bed that you sleep on is a possession. I'm self-employed and Not retired and work in IT from home requiring a PC. I also have a Smart TV and Smart mobile phones as part of my work using the latest technology while maintaining Spiritual Growth and Traditional Moral Values. I Am an Alien in the place where I live. I don't have a car. Everything Belongs to Elohim/God. All Possessions Belongs to Elohim/God.

I Am Christian Monk that has no Children and never been Married. Elohim/God has made me Morally Superior to you being a Christian Monk, Vegan and Free From Drugs.

This is a Critically Serious discussion with Billions of Souls at stake. This is about Salvation to me. If you are making jokes about this and cannot appreciate the seriousness of the discussion you lack Moral Values and cannot be taken seriously.

There was a preacher who fell in the ocean and he couldn't swim. When a boat came by, the captain yelled, "Do you need help, sir?" The preacher calmly said "No, God will save me." A little later, another boat came by and a fisherman asked, "Hey, do you need help?" The preacher replied again, "No God will save me." Eventually the preacher drowned & went to heaven. The preacher asked God, "Why didn't you save me?" God replied, "Fool, I sent you two boats!"

The desire to create opponents...the desire to compete with others...the desire to feel superior...all ego, my friend. In my experience, serving one's own ego only leads to suffering.

I have things that are required to live. My clothes...my car...food...my body...are all temporary. All needs, not wants, that I simply use in this world to sustain life. None of which I can keep when this life ends. It's all borrowed.

I call it liberation. "Critical Seriousness" has its time and place, but is not requisite to liberation. I am not concerned with whether or not to take me seriously. In fact, I'd prefer you didn't. Laughter is...well...liberating. :D

Yes, Elohim/God Saves in Different Ways. It still remains that I Depend on Elohim's/God's Spiritual Power to Heal while Elohim/God has Enslaved you on Drug Dependence.

Have members on these forums seen the movie Speaking In Tongues? You can learn a lot from the movie about Enslaving Drug Dependence.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES (Full Chicago Indie Movie) | Scott Hennelly, Tyler Esselman

Elohim's/God's Opponent was Created in Adam's Rebellion that we have all Inherited. You are an Opponent of Elohim/God by your Drug Taking. You have not learnt this.

Matthew 6:31-33

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Yes indeed you require Possessions to live and they are all transient.

For example there are Billions in Christendom that think Christianity is all about Attending Church, Socialising and Singing Hymns Not Attaining Salvation. @SalixIncendium Are you saying that what you have posted in this thread cannot be taken seriously because you are only joking?

I have posted in this thread to have a productive conversation about asceticism with you. I think most here can determine whether I'm serious or joking. It's up to you, the reader, to decide if you want to take anything I say seriously. Either way, it affects me not.

Save the question, your words in your last post have degenerated into mere preaching/proselytizing. I won't be preached or proselytized to. I'll leave it to you if you want to continue a discussion to compare ideas without passing judgment, preaching, or proselytizing. The ball is in your court.

Elohim/God Delivers from Enslaving Drug Dependence through Real Ascetic Practice. The Longing for Spiritual Attainment Towards Elohim/God Breaks the Yokes/Bonds that tie you to the Earth. Elohim's/God's Christian Gnosticism Delivers From All Earthly Addictions/Sins. Moses is an Ascetic.

Asceticism

Asceticism (/əˈsɛtɪsɪzəm/; from the Greek: ἄσκησις, romanized: áskesis, lit. 'exercise', 'training') is a lifestyle characterized by abstinence from sensual pleasures, often for the purpose of pursuing spiritual goals.[3] Ascetics may withdraw from the world for their practices or continue to be part of their society, but typically adopt a frugal lifestyle, characterised by the renunciation of material possessions and physical pleasures, and also spend time fasting while concentrating on the practice of religion or reflection upon spiritual matters,[4] which is thought by some to allow the practitioner's core of consciousness to expand and connect with the infinite universal consciousness.[5] Some individuals have also attempted an ascetic lifestyle to free themselves from addictions such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs, entertainment, sex, food, etc.[
