I would say that some of them hate, but they don't rise to anywhere near the hate of the KKK.

"The mainstream media" is rather broad. Who specifically called for political violence? Regardless, let's not pretend that far-right loons don't have their vocal cheerleaders, either.
Anti-Fascists and women calling out their abusers are a hate group?!?! You realize we went to war and killed Fascists, right? Modern antifa haven't killed anyone to my knowledge but people like Heather Heyer have been murdered by Fascists.

Antifa can get quite violent in some of their demonstrations. The worst I have seen from Metoo is some not caring if innocent men suffer along with the guilty.
We're talking about clashes with neo-Nazis. Forgive me if I don't hold that against them.

not sure what you mean by that. In both Seattle and even more so in Portland antifa protests do not involve actual facists.

I saw that. In some demonstrations it is hard t tell where one group ends and the other begins. The same applies to some of the right wing hate groups. They blend into each other.
How about if we say that a group is a hate group when they cross the line and do damage to either people or property?

Granted it is not perfect. When one realizes that attacks on property are an attack on the time spent earning that property it becomes more reasonable. And due to the risks I would consider attacks against another human being more serious.

What I mean is that I wouldn't classify that group as a hate group.
For example, a guy and his buddies from work busting some windows on wall street isn't a hate crime, so that wouldn't work there. If their violence is motivated by hate, (KKK) then maybe. Possibly a criminal organization of some kind.
(As a side note, Antifa would be especially hard to classify. It's not a real organization, after all, more like a moniker that small groups use.)

Fortunately, the reaction hasn't reach equal levels.
And why should we stop talking about race? Do you think Nazis or whatever will just pack up their bags and go home? By doing so, we're emboldening them by eliminating their opposition, and we're leaving the systemic racial inequalities present in the current system.
So we let more black people get shot, and the Nazis can get elected. Of course, that's already happened...

I wonder what would happen if you ignored them.
I was working in a small town in the Piedmont when the KKK came to town .. 1989.. All 15 of them bussed in from Utah for a parade.. They got a permit. The day came and I'd forgotten so I was going into the Ace Hardware as they marched past. Everyone on the street turned their backs and remained perfectly still until they were out of sight.
It was fabulous.

Pretending that racism doesn't exist where it does isn't helpful, but neither is pretending that it exist where is doesn't. Both mentalities are part of the problem.
It's not just that one tiny outlet. And cancer starts with a tiny cell that malfunctions. What's needed is to stop a few malign "cells" from metastasizing.
