And I disagree that it is ultimately a meaningless existence. It is meaningful because *we* give it meaning based on our goals and desires. being a social species, this often relates to helping others. Being an intelligent species, it can also relate to learning about the universe and how it...

Here is another evidence given, to indicate the divine inspiration of the Bible, by revealing detailed knowledge of the physical world that was not understood by ‘science’ until many centuries, if not millennia, later.

This is a pointless exercise. The bible is not a science book. It is a work of literature, full of allegory and metaphor. The value of Its messages to humanity does not depend in the least on it describing nature accurately, which of course it does not do.
Nope. That means the disk of the earth. The bible thinks the earth is flat (sometimes like a table, sometimes like a plate), it's the center of the universe and rigidly fixed in place, the sun moon and stars go round it, the sky (firmament) is solid and the heavenly bodies are affixed to it so...
Let's see, He who sits above the circle of the Earth.......
Same could be said for somebody looking down at a table top. I mean it describes a Viewpoint from above. Right? How in the world could someone ever tell if it was spherical if you're just above it?

I stopped reading at the verse referring to the "circle" of the earth. A circle is flat, and as you said the earth is a sphere (or ellipsoid to be precise). So, the verse describing the earth as a circle is obviously erroneous.
'THE BIBLE AND SCIENCE DON'T COINCIDE!'
Below are some reasons why I disagree with the statement above :)

I disagee with your interpretation (according to Christian scripture) other than one's body:

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his...

Just stuff to argue about.... Some of you may know this already but here is claimed scientific evidence known by the Bible.
1. Only in recent years has science discovered that everything we see is composed of invisible atoms. Here, Scripture tells us that the "things which are seen were not made...

Is the Bible Really True?
I believe that the Bible is true for the following reasons:
• God oversaw the preservation of the Holy Scriptures. For example, biblical scholars believe that Moses was not an eyewitness to the creation of the universe...
I asked you to provide the verse you were referring to, and instead you quoted something about Matthew Maury, as you’ve done here (though I think it was a different quote). So I guessed that the verse you were referring to was the one he apparently found inspiration from – that being...
I did not recall the verse or apply it to anything, but lets see where I did get it from.
American naval officer and oceanographer Matthew Maury (1806-1873) was a Christian who loved reading his Bible. He also had no doubts about its accuracy. And these facts led him to some remarkable...
Thanks. This is what I was pointing out. This was something understood by many cultures before, during and after the text of the bible. Basically the writer took what was observable and attributed to his god. He explains a phenomenon of the natural world that was observable. Sumerians...
Thats why I made a closer study of the water cycle. Nothing about it in your Bible. Your Bible only describes what little children can figure out all by themselves.
Your Bible didnt figure this out. Science did it later. When I was a little child I figured out exactly what your Bible...
Would you mind linking to your source? That doesn't even make sense without the formatting of the original. Maybe it doesn't make sense there either, but I wouldn't mind checking.
