The UK's Greatest Prime Minister died this morning.

Skanky Old Mongrel!
The funeral passed without any bad incidents. Thank goodness that we showed the world that we still have manners and values, even if we disagreed with her policies.

Only one Minister made a big fuss about Parliament being closed for the funeral, and Mr Galloway was not heavily backed, for some reason.

As far as I am concerned, the historians can argue and write it all, from now.

Peace

Shockingly wasteful for a government that tried to privatize libraries and sell off national parks to save a few quid.

Oh they've sold everything, all the utilities were state owned, water, gas, telecoms,Rail and Bus network, everything, you could say the British people have been raped by the Conservatives and that vile Thatcher Woman (sorry she was a Woman),she even took away free milk from schools.

And today, one day after the funeral, my hubby tells me the Cons are proposing a plan to start charging for the NHS and **** with schools. Amazing.

Good Lord, Thatcher as the greatest British PM?!

Churchill aside, what about Walpole, what about Sir Robert Peel, Lord Palmerston, what about Disraeli, what about Asquith??! Hell, Clement bloody Atlee was better than Thatcher. Thatcher ranks right up there with Neville Chamberlain, as far as I'm concerned.

I dont get what the big deal is with the whole milk thing - I used to HATE having to drink my milk. Pointless waste of taxpayers money

I am extremely grateful for the privatisation of all those companies as now I have a choice as to who I buy my energy from, instead of having no choice but to subsidise it for the state.
Now i benefit from swapping to new tariffs, collecting nectar points etc I much prefer private compaies providng my services - competition is a good thing.

I agree the Liberal policy in the 50s to begin the privitisation of rail services was badly mamanged, and is cocked up now.
This is because they tracks belong to a separate company to the train networks... and our tracks are Victorian.

I wasn't forced to drink the milk but it was there if I wanted to,for many Children that milk was something to look forward to,in what way was it a "Pointless waste of taxpayers money",aren't Children important enough.

I'm glad that you are grateful for buying back something that you already owned, you must have accumulated quite a few Nectar points by now, privitisation has done so much for us,not only did they sell off everything but we also have to subsidise the Banks and probably the Rail network, privitisation is so cool eh.

The privitisation of British Rail was a cockup because of the very reason that it was privitised, the quality of railway maintenance did a Titanic and sunk to very poor levels, the reason it did is obvious, shareholders need a profit more than they need to stop a derailment.

Mr Mason - are you applauding the over use of sarcasm or the points he's trying to make?

Yeh - I made 10,000 Nectar points in the first year. 2 weeks shopping for free so not bad.

And I like paying low taxes so it doesn't bother me that my shares in those state businesses were sold off.

Don't agree with bank subsidies. Banks should have been allowed to fail.

I was in the UK in 93 before rail privatization, and in 2006, after. The expense and terrible service after privatization came as a real shock. Worst rail service in Europe, IMO.

Still is IMO,expensive Cattle trucks and in the Autumn leaves on the line can stop it in its tracks, pathetic really in comparison to the trains that manage to run in heavy snow in Canada.

Er... at least she was honest? For a politician, I mean. Very forthright about her contempt for the working class.
