VenatorAnima is Latin for "soul hunter" or "soul seeker"...
and I am currently hunting for where I fit in the world of religion.
So yeah, I am a VenatorAnima!

Foxfire

It's all about the Light
Since I love the natural world and believe that is all there is, I love it when nature throws a party with lights and everything: ;) Plus the name for this phenomenon is way cool.

Foxfire is the term for the bioluminescence created in the right conditions by a few species of fungi that decay wood. The luminescence is often attributed to members of the genus Armillaria, the Honey mushroom, though others are reported, and as many as 71 individual species have been identified. On the suggestion of Benjamin Franklin it was used for light in the Turtle, an early submarine.
In the novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, the characters Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer use foxfire as a source of light in order to dig a tunnel.

This is my first post :) My user id is my name because I'm as devious as Michel... :)

I'm new to this forum - should i NOT have revealed my real name?? :D

My username has quite a funny story. My boyfriend and I were talking about contraceptive jellies and that made me think of strawberry jelly and how I really wanted some at the time. Shorty after that I created my Yahoo! account and that's what I used for it. Ever since then it just kind of stuck.

I love the name Madeline! You're actually the only Madeline I've ever met.

Also because I like dogs and I am a canine/dog therian.
I like dogs and cats and pretty much any animal with no more than four legs. What's a dog therian? Is that like a dog-whisperer?

Thank you.

A therian is someone who is spiritually, mentally, or psychologically connected with a particular animal. In this case, mine would be dogs/canines.

I used to play a game called Counterstrike, which is a first person shooter type on a really crappy internet connection. When it got really bad i would jump all over the place due to the lag. One day some guy on there said in chat "dude you look like you are OD'ing on ritalin. That very day my nick was born, some 9 years or so ago.

I call myself Witch because I am a Witch, from a line of hereditary Russian Witches. I'm also very out as a Witch, and make a clear distinction between the Craft, which is a European variation of shamanism, and Wicca, which is a manufactured New Age religion.

I use a number because it's pretty hard to use Witch as a user name without a number; it's a very popular handle. And I use #9 because, as a Witch, I am bound by the Law of Three, and 9 = 3 x 3. Nine has been, and in some cases still is, considered thrice sacred and represents perfection, balance, order. In many ancient civilizations, the number nine symbolizes deep religious truth.
