Remembrance weekend pro Palestinian marches should they be banned?.

Because in his writings and Saayid Qutbs the decline of the Islamic empire, poverty and the influence of fascism and hatred of Jews.

Might it have something also to do with his Arab cousins being forced off of their land in 1948 (and continually after)? That really is the inconvenient truth no one wants to talk about. Colonialism is the root issue. It was done, badly, and we can't change that history now, but it does explain a lot of the hatred, which doesn't arise from nowhere.

Well, I've just got back from participating in the march for a short while, from Victoria down to Vauxhall Bridge. (I didn't want to risk getting stuck on the bridge in case I was forced to listen to Jeremy Corbyn's whining, relayed over a public address system, with no chance of escape.)

And.....it was much as I expected. It was HUGE. Must be several hundred thousand. Reckon about 70% with some sort of muslim or Middle Eastern affiliation, from the Indian subcontinent or Arab. Lots of families, including young children, some in pushchairs, everyone smiling and chatting - on this so called "hate march”. In fact, rather curiously, I found the semi-carnival atmosphere less threatening than Vauxhall Bridge Road on a normal day!

Loads of Palestine flags, lots of banners, placards and chants with with sentiments such as “Stop the Genocide”, "Freedom for Palestine” and so on. I neither saw nor heard anything aggressive or antisemitic. A lot of Friends of Al Aqsa banners. This seems to be a ginger group campaigning for Palestinian rights, taking its name from the mosque in Jerusalem.

Based on what I saw, heard and felt, I find it inconceivable there will be any violence from these people. The only troublemakers, I suspect, will be the yobs that Sunak and Braverperson have spent the last week dogwhistling to show up and spoil the party. I gather the cops have locked about 50 of them inside a pub at Victoria, hahaha.

There were a few people wearing poppies apart from me, including a young Arab-looking woman in a headscarf, with poppy earrings and a "free Gaza T-shirt, whose picture I took, with her permission. Unfortunately it seems the file is too big to copy onto this forum - ah no I've found a way:-

It feels to me as if Sunk and Braverperson will come out of this looking like irresponsible twats, while the head of the Metropolitan Police will be the one saying "I told you so". But I suppose I shouldn't count my chickens until the day is over.

I had a great day,few pints in the pub after with youngest son and a curry on the way home, very moving especially the last post (not the thread),I’m glad it went well.

What a shame they didn’t decry Hamas for the murder of 1400 people at a peace concert or the 200+ hostages, not a mention.
That's the typical specious criticism...
"You didn't address other wrongs in the world."
"So you deserve no credibility."
You don't complain about pro Israel demonstrations
that fail to mention 10,000+ Palestinians massacred
by Israel, or settlers killing & robbing Palestinians.

This double standard is at its core merely opposition
to advocacy for Palestinians under Israel's jack boot.

Too many Christians & Jews hate Muslims.
They need to get past this, & craft a solution
that leads to peace instead of recurring conflict.

Erm not really,he started the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928 and already hated Jews long before 1948 and sent fighter to attack Jews there and basically started the ball rolling.

So one person's views determine those of
every Muslim since, eh. That totally ignores
Israel's recurring crimes against Palestinians,
which would reasonably inspire armed
resistance to the terrorist state.

Actually, he didn't join the Muslim Brotherhood until the early 1950s.

"Resigning from the civil service, he joined the Muslim Brotherhood in the early 1950s[48] and became editor-in-chief of the Brothers' weekly Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimin, and later head of its propaganda[49][50] section, as well as an appointed member of the working committee and of its guidance council, the highest branch in the organization.[51]"

He was an anti-Semite, but note the dates of his activity in that area. Coincidence?

"Qutb was a staunch antisemite.[82] Influenced by Islamists like Rashid Rida, Qutb embraced anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and believed in the existence of global Jewish conspiracies.[83] In 1950, he published a book Our Struggle against the Jews, which forms a central part of today's Islamist antisemitism.[84]"

There are terrible things going on around the world.
They are no excuse for Israel joining in on evil.

I know of Qutb but it doesn’t change the Muslim founders hatred of Jews and the west, best book to read by Qutb is “Milestones”,called the Islamic terrorist handbook.

I don’t know why you don’t just say “I hate Israel whatever”....
Why don't you admit hating Muslims, eh.
...do you really think there was only one person in the Muslim Brotherhood?.
This seizing upon this factoid to justify perpetual
war upon Muslims by Israel ignores the failure
of that policy.
Think in terms of how peace could be achieved,
instead of justifying hatred & war.

But it seems that anything Israel does...
The problem isn't merely "anything Israel does".
It's the oppression, human rights violations, &
war crimes that raise objections.
....and in this case responding to a terrorist massacre of people at a peace festival is so much worse.
To respond by committing war crimes
is merely to massacre to a greater degree.
This is vengeance far more than self
defense.

So you don't think that Palestinians being forced off their land has anything to do with the current conflict?

Yes indeed. Full marks to Mark Rowley his police force and to the marchers, and zero marks to Sunak and Braverperson for trying to demonise these perfectly normal people.

How would you expect your country to react with those deaths and 200 plus hostages?,hamas could release them right if they’re still alive and get a peace deal right?.

No I don’t,it’s not about land it’s about “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free”,it’s about the complete eradication of Jews in israel.

Here’s another favourite of Hamas, this Hadith:

The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.’”
