Does theism lead to immoral behaviour?

an anarchist

Your local anarchist.
You are surprised that God destroyed the world - what reasonable and insightful person would ever think that humans don't deserve that?
Words cannot express the sorrow that I feel for your abuse, but this is indicative, in countless forms, of mankind.
I, personally, can't believe that God hasn't struck me down a thousands times over, the selfish and ruthless way that I've lived my life, never thanking Him or paying head to His precepts of 'love one another'. That's all that He's asked of us. Anyone that was punished in the Bible was for that reason, their obscene wickedness, and you see how long God waited to exact punishment.
Ahh, yes I'm sure all the children who died in the flood had it coming...
I think the above quoted reply shows the toxic attitudes that Christianity can create.
Humanity by default doesn't deserve destruction. Anyways, If the Bible is true, it's gods fault why we are wicked in the first place.

I believe that you have an inflated view of yourself, and your species.

Are you not going to defend YHVH's actions in the OT? Or condemn them? Or declare that it never happened as the OT is irrelevant to a Christian? You said previously that only the NT defines a Christian, so the OT is irrelevant, isn't it? Adam, Isaac, Noah, Moses, David, just stories in an irrelevant book.

I believe that I am a god and other humans too. So maybe you're right that I have an inflated view. But maybe I'm right instead.
But do you really think man inherently deserves destruction? You said all those in the flood had it coming. Even the children?
No, you're not appreciating how corrupt that we all are. Different degrees for each individual, but inexcusable and guilty all the same.
I cannot speak about the children, and what their level of complicity or associated guilt is based on either their parent's or sibling's behaviour?
It seems unreasonable, depending on their actual age, to condemn them for sin. But, I find that to be a marginal issue when predominantly speaking, man's atrocities are beyond many people's imagination. That the shock about the punishment is largely based on our desensitization to it.

If find your comments to be entirely irrelevant, like seriously!

I'm sorry, you are not entitled to say that something 'sucks' with such irrational argumentation.
What's irrational about it?

Only Jesus defines what Christianity is,
There are many who disagree, and many who interpret Jesus differently.

only Mohammed defines what Islam is,
There are many who disagree, and many who interpret Muhammed differently.

only Buddha defines what Buddhism is, obviously.
There are many who disagree, and many who interpret Buddha differently.

I mean, your argument is literally that there can only be one, strict definition of any given doctrine, determined by something that you cannot possibly independently verify. Think about that for a few minutes. If it were that simple, there simply would not be the vast number of different religious schools of thought that exist today. It's naive nonsense.

The adherents do not, for their interpretation, indoctrination, ulterior motives may be entirely flawed, obviously.
Except the adherents conclusions are (mostly) drawn from interpretation of the above, and the ambiguity that naturally arises from drawing beliefs and principles from a fundamentally unknowable agent.

What in the world are you talking about?
I was fairly clear. Your response is garbage.

You better believe it - and I will judge everyone accordingly - for a bad tree does not produce good fruit.

...you're not really trying to play the 'do not judge' card with me, are you?
If you're going to quote Scripture, wouldn't it more prudent to understand what you're quoting - keep it in context?
Lesson: Jesus meant do not judge self-righteously or hypocritically, and the significance ends right there.
For, we are to judge everything and everyone otherwise. Know right from wrong, and know who's a trouble-maker and who isn't. Discern false prophets and spirits, elect capable men as leaders and reject the incompetent or immature ones. Be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

I Corinthians 6:2-3

Such wonderful Christians who selectively and vehemently ignores the parts of the NT they don't like and make up their own garbage that better suites their own personality.

P.s. love thy neighbour

I guess it depends on what they perceive their god allows. If they think their god approves of killing “infidels”, then they’d do it… fervently.

History records that some of the bloodiest and most violent wars, were of a religious nature.

Sad, really.

If these religions support such murderous behaviors toward other fellow humans, then their members should question the religions’ tenets.

Useful comment.

We always make judgment calls… we should. We don’t accept just anyone as a close friend.

Appreciate that.

I didn't quote scripture, i gave 2 verse numbers and apparently they really upset you because you know the scripture to which they relate and chose to think for Jesus... Interesting

FYI, i have read 3 bibles cover to cover and several other snippets (can you say the same?) but feel free to dis what you don't know. I don't interpret as it suites me, i go by what is actually written

...interpretation requires wisdom - lacking perception is shameful.

I've lost count how many times that I've read the Bible back to back.
I also offered a counter text, and paraphrased several others - which part are you not getting by accusing me of being an eisegete, or having ulterior motives other than rightly dividing God's word?
Your familiarity and comprehension of the Bible is what appears to be lacking or defective, I would assert.

Ahh, yes, drowning ALL of the children on earth is indeed a "marginal" issue... Geezus H Christ lol
Quit trying to play bleeding heart, buddy, you're anything but.
Like I implied earlier - start to appreciate your own wretchedness before you start attempting to define rectitude from iniquity.
...anyone who claims that they're in good moral standing, hasn't got a single clue.
