Racism against Asians

Scott C.

Just one guy
I was not aware until recently of an increase of attacks on Asians. A few point and questions:

1. Is it a fact that violence against Asians has increased due to the fact that Covid started in China? (Only complete idiots would attack Asians, or Chinese, specifically over this or for any racial reason.)
2. What do the Georgia murders have to do with Asian hate? I read the man was a sex addict and murdered the women because either 1) some of them performed sex acts on him (consensually, though illegally), 2) while he did not have sex there, he knew it to be a sex operation or 3) it was not a sex operation and the man was entirely off his target. Regardless, this is a horrendous unjustifiable murder, and the man is out of his mind. But I'm lost on how this is being tied to hatred against women or Asians. I guess you could say the man hates women who offer sex, who in this case happen to be Asian.
3. Covid started in China. I would not be surprised if the Chinese government either created it on purpose and it got away from them, or they are hiding facts on where it came from and how it spread. I hate the Chinese form or government. I do not trust the Chinese government. We must be able to call this out publicly without people being so stupid as to attack Asians over it.
4. If you are Asian-American I am interested in your personal experiences with racism and your thoughts on the above. I am very sorry to whatever extend this happens to you.

1. Yes.
2. He had a kink for Asian women (whom often become targets of fetishization), and the places he hit were specifically Asian parlors he had been frequenting. Asian women, Pacific Islander women and Native American women have disproportionate amounts of sexual abuse compared to the general population.
3. All signs in virology study point to covid being a naturally arisen zoonotic disease. (Can read more here and here) Criticizing the Chinese government is all well and good, but making them a scapegoat for the disease isn't helping matters. Especially when two major pandemics came from American pig farms for very similar reasons.
4. I'm not Asian-American, but I have read stories from Asian-Americans getting berated and abused especially since covid.

Could it be the fact he deliberately targeted, attacked, and killed women in a place that would be patronized predominately by, if not solely by women?

It's been on the rise for about a year now. American citizens being targeted and attacked, told to go home, told they don't belong and treated like unwelcomed guests. And that's not counting Asians who aren't citizens.
And keep in mind, a characteristic of America is it's anti-intellectualism. It takes a total absence of all rational thought to attack Asian people over this, but Americans are known for not being the brightest people in the world.
Covid started in China. I would not be surprised if the Chinese government either created it on purpose and it got away from them,
Claims of events that resemble the plot of stories like Resident Evil or Night of the Living Dead should be heavily scrutinized.
More American anti-intellectualism and vehement [societal] denial of evolution basically make this one feasible to some.

I think you missed my point. Of course they were women. The man said he hated that women in spas made sex a temptation to him. I would assume therefore that he would also kill white women in a spa that offers sex. I would assume he would not kill women who work at a coffee shop. So I do not see this as anti-women or anti-Asian. Rather it's a deranged anti-women who offer sex attack. It's more limited in scope. If this is indeed why the man committed these murders, then this case does not fit into the narrative of increasing attacks on Asians over Covid-19 or over general racial hatred. It's a one-off case of a psycho with a sex problem and who knows what other mental issues. But I'm not trying to take away from real racial issues and attacks against Asians. It just doesn't help, and it hurts the case, when the media blows this up to be something that it's not (apparently - I will change my mind if contrary evidence is uncovered).

I wouldn't be trying get into the mind of this sex obsessed lunatic and gauge his motivations, but it seems he has a history of wanting to put Asian women in degrading situations.

Incels attacking aren't a one off thing. It's happened before, if that's what he is (I got that vibe).
Toronto van attack: 'Incel' killer Minassian pleads not criminally responsible
A Canadian man who killed 10 people by ploughing a van into pedestrians in Toronto has pleaded "not criminally responsible" at the start of his trial.

Alek Minassian faces 10 charges of murder and 16 of attempted murder.

The 28-year-old has been linked to the misogynistic "incel" movement, a mostly online group of young men who blame their lack of sexual activity on women.
Incels Are Radicalized and Dangerous. But Are They Terrorists?
In late February, a 17-year-old walked into a massage parlor in Toronto’s West End just after noon with a machete. Paramedics were on scene within a half-hour, treating three victims for stab wounds.

Ashley Noell Arzaga, just seven years older than her attacker, died on her way to hospital. The spa’s owner lost a finger wrenching away the weapon. The alleged attacker, who remained mostly silent during the rampage, was arrested at the scene.

The attack garnered some media attention at the time, but there was scant detail available. The alleged assailant cannot be named, as Canadian law prohibits identifying youths in the criminal justice system. But it rocketed back into the news on May 19, after police announced that, on top of first-degree and attempted murder charges, they would be prosecuting the crime as an act of terrorism. Investigators “determined that this crime was in fact one in which the accused was inspired by the … movement commonly known as INCEL (involuntary celibate),” according to a statement from the Toronto Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The fake news is running another narrative for the Democrat Party crime syndicate. This is an attempt to peel off Asian voters, in Georgia. Asians are more free enterprise and lean to the right. They are not part of the welfare state. The goal is to create division, since Left wing policies are already hurting prospects in the midterms in Georgia.

I live in a northeastern city of the US where there is a huge Asian population. Asians take education seriously, with many Asian successful small and large business owners. They have increased property values in my home town by buying, living in, and remodeling properties, that were made into slums by the leftist welfare policies, starting in the 1960's. Asians do not need big government handouts, so the left needs different scam. Racism is there ace in the hole, when fueled by fake news.

If you do your research, the killer confessed to the police in a statement you can read. It takes some time to find since Google is helping the scam. In his statement, the killer he he is was not racist and was not targeting anyone. Rather he claims to be a sex addict, The porn on the internet and those "massage parlors", represented temptation he has lived and which he trying to fight. Anyone, inches mind, connected to his sex problem, was the target, no matter what skin color. The left is trying to spin this.

The problem is there is no penalty for lying by fake news. When this narrative is all cleared up, in court case for the killer, and the divisive damage is done, nobody will be punished for lying. The goal is to divide people and then blame conservatives.

Does anyone recall the Russian collusion delusion scam and how the same fake news sources lied for two years. Nobody did any research and nobody ever apologized for getting it wrong, never mind get fined or sued, when the truth was revealed. This is the same thing. Be careful judging unless you be judged.

What type of person, in a religious forum, sides with known habitual liars? Why not question the source to make sure, since they have a bad track record? Why just accept it? What is wrong inside you?

What should happen is when the truth is finally revealed, the press credentials of all the liars should be suspended. They can still have freedom of speech, but the con artists would now be vulnerable to laws against liable and slander. Media has deep packets so lawyers can hep themselves open a new market simply being honest and fair.

Another approach is to challenge the liars to a money bet. This is a way to make some easy money. Losing a bet is a good penalty for liars It adds accountability. You Vegas odds makers should get in on the action, and help drive the betting. This is fast money since the liars are plentiful.

There's another trait to consider. The shooter is a Christian.
People are quick to blame the usual suspects....incels, white
supremacists, Trump (as VP Harris just did).
This country is loath to address the dominant religion for possible
involvement. Christianity has long had a problematic relationship
with things like sex & abortion, and this has flared up into violence.
Tumult grew in shootings suspect
If we can examine Islam's relationship with terrorism & murders,
certainly we shouldn't cast a blind eye towards Christianity.
If it's sending dangerous messages to people, the faithful should
carefully consider this.

Huh? How do you know that predominantly or solely women
get massages there? One victim was there with her husband
(who didn't die) for a couples massage. (She might've been
one of the white victims....but I saw no mention of her race.)

There's a whole lotta racism going on. But it's not
quite what mainstream media want us to believe.

Possible, and I don't let it get a free pass when it applies. But women being attacked makes me think incel.
Don't underestimate religious fundamentalists with sex issues.
The shooter did also kill one white male worker, & one white
female customer.
I've not known men to frequent spas that much.
One gal killed (possibly the white one) was there with her
husband for a couple's massage. Men get massages too.
If the guy really wanted to kill Asians, an Asian grocery store
or restaurant would offer greater herds of them.

We can never see in a person's heart of hearts to know whether they did something people called racist out of racism, or any number of other possible reasons. In fact, inferring any motivation at all from a crime sounds rather spurious in that light, don't you think? So, since we can never know whether somebody is really racist in their heart of hearts, pretending to be racist, being accidentially racist, or only being called racist because people have misinterpreted their potentially not-racist actions as racist, I propose that we start looking at the real effects and consequences of any given action, rather than trying to infer motivations that we will never be able to conclusively prove one way or another.

Based on this argument, I would say that, if a crime appears racist and has a chilling or intimidating effect on people of a given ethnicity or race, we can safely call it "racist" without having to have endless discussions over whether the perp was really racist or just accidentially appeared that way becuase of a neferious media agenda to besmirch the good names of serial killers by associating them with bigotry.

Based on these criteria would you say it is important to work out why such a disproportionate number of black Americans commit racist violence against Asian Americans?

All racial groups commit most violence against their own racial grouping. The only exception is most violence against Asians is committed by African Americans, not Asian Americans.

I'm unfamiliar with those crime statistics, I admit. Would you mind pointing me where to find them?
