it comes out out from your pocket and you can not do anything about what you get for it...
Huh?
You get medical coverage out of the payments to medical insurance.
If you do not have medical insurance you pay a fine for breaking the law.

So no, not a tax.

Not unless they're taken by the IRS for something which isn't punishment for wrongdoing.
So if the IRS collects the fine for breaking a law it is a tax?
How does that work?

Is it a tax then when the IRS charges a late fee?
In that case there is real wrongdoing.
But to not buy insurance (especially when one cannot) isn't a crime.
Woe unto a country where gov can require us to buy anything, &
tax (or fine, if you prefer) us for not doing so.

All I hear in regards to car insurance is crickets chirping.

From articles Ive read here and there over the past few years, many companies have increased wages for low income earners out of pressure for better wages.
I am just trying understand what this data really means.

I find it difficult to see how people can survive on $10 to $12 an hour as the only income. It is tough enough for an individual, let alone one with any sort of family.
