Why do you hold on to the anger that arises within you?
The clue to the answer lay within the question.

What is there to be angry about?
Some people can't help themselves. Or rather, I shouldn't say can't, but don't want to. It's like a person with a cancer, but they don't want to get rid of it, because somehow, it makes them feel like somebody.... but at the same time, they don't realize it's killing them. Why do you hold on to the anger that arises within you?

Yes, some people cling to their ego and let their frustration onto others. Some people can't help themselves. Or rather, I shouldn't say can't, but don't want to. Are you not angry that our politicians are ignoring climate change? What is there to be angry about?
Anger arises from within your thoughts, not from what others may do toward you.
Anger is often a reflection of once own thoughts and worries about self/ egoI believe anger is a natural reaction, but what we may do with our anger is ours to deal with. As I now tell our grandchildren, don't let other people or events dictate your actions and mood.
Exactly. It reflect how one feels about themselves. Taking it out on others, makes them feel good about themselves. It's a sickness - a disease. What is there to be angry about?

I actually misread your t-shirt earlier. I thought it read... "If you ere angry..."Are you not angry that our politicians are ignoring climate change?
Are you not angry that so many kids are taught creationism as fact?
Are you not angry that millions are starving whilst others deny people basic health care?
You should be.
No, No anger toward what you say.Are you not angry that our politicians are ignoring climate change?

Ya, but if someone hits me over the head with a 2 X 4, I do think that it's not all just in my mind.Anger is often a reflection of once own thoughts and worries about self/ ego
Do you see the reason why it happens? Can it be that something from the past has caught up with you and the result is someone hitting you? (Karma = result of action, words or thoughts done in the past)Ya, but if someone hits me over the head with a 2 X 4, I do think that it's not all just in my mind.
Why do you hold on to the anger that arises within you?

If I may say.... you may think so, but it is... the anger, I mean. Not the lash with the two by four.Ya, but if someone hits me over the head with a 2 X 4, I do think that it's not all just in my mind.
Justice of what? Poice and Judges in court is the one who can legally say if something is justified.Anger is a reflection of the perception of grievance and/or injustice. This perception may be misplaced due to the limitations of our knowledge, but it is not the product of pure imagination. It does not come entirely from “within” but has its source in our relations with our environment and obstacles that frustrate our freedom of action.
Anger is often a critical ingredient in the psychological motivation in the pursuit of justice. When we deny anger, we often empower the oppressors who demand and expect our compliance and obedience to their will. It is true that anger can serve a role in aggression and domination, but the problem is the ends and interests with which anger is pursued, not anger as a means of articulating human interests in our emotional state.
Sorry, I can't agree with that, in particular the 'past karma' nonsense. No, No anger toward what you say.
Politicians do not work for the best of humanity, they work for their own good and ego.
For those who teach creationism, it is their choice of how they wish to teach their kids not something to be angry about.
No, Not angry because people are in different stages of life, Some people are born into poverty from past karma. But having compassion with them for the suffering they going through
Some people are born as rich, but spend their money in waited objects and to enrich themselves, not something to be angry at (it is their choice)
Anger does not solve a thing in the world, it only creates more anger and suffering
Why do Anger matter? Does not anger lead to more suffering?Sorry, I can't agree with that, in particular the 'past karma' nonsense.
Anger is a necessary emotion; it is how you control that anger that matters.
Read my post again - especially the bit about "How you control your anger" - I can be angry and do nothing. Why do Anger matter? Does not anger lead to more suffering?
Even when you do not harm others, or speak back to them, you suffer as long you hold the anger within you. Often it is a sign that once Ego speaks and until Ego is satisfied the anger lingers in the mind.Read my post again - especially the bit about "How you control your anger" - I can be angry and do nothing.
Not that that is always the best approach.
