It would magically flip our economy upside down, shut down all polluting powerplants, make fossil fuel cars disappear and make available a few trillion dollars to "rebuild" our energy generating industry?
Well, how 'bout that...
And then you wonder why I call you "part of the problem".
Here you have it... your exact mentality is that we humans don't need to do anything at all about how we are destroying the earth because "jesus will come and save us".
People like you make me lose all hope for mankind at times.
Huh? Where did you read in the Bible that we humans don't need to to anything ________________
On the contrary, we are to do our part because God will bring to ruin those ruining the Earth - Revelation 11:18 B
There is a difference between Atomic Energy and Atomic Bombs.
How is living by the Golden Rule going to flip the economy upside down, etc_____________ Leviticus 19:18
I find the Bible emphasizes behaviors that promote economic security.
For example:
The Bible teaches people to be honest, trustworthy, and generous - Deuteronomy 15:7-11; 25:15; Psalms 15
Christians are to be hard workers - 2 Thessalonians 3:10; 1 Timothy 5:8
Some organizations today urge business professionals to uphold such ethical standards over business creeds.
I don't see such upholding in the political realm.
Think about the Code of Law that God gave at Leviticus 19:9-10; 25:10, 35-37; Deuteronomy 24:19-21.
The Law required to set aside produce for the poor. A form of insurance .
The needy were to be granted interest-free loans.
Every 50 years (jubilee year) hereditary land given back to land owners to protect property rights.
So, such economic provisions helped:
* Support given through financial reversals
* Help to recover from long-term poverty
* Alleviated economic inequality
Imagine all this 3,000 years before the birth of economics as a study in the field science.
I find the world is putting faith (worship) in the 'god of technology' to solve the problems.
I find technology is a two-edeged sword:
Atomic Energy / Atomic Bomb
Nitro / dynamite / gunpowder / weapons
Seems to me there is a lack of Bible knowledge or education that makes people think real Christians are lazy.
And remember Jesus warns MANY would come 'in his name' but prove false - Matthew 7:21-23.
That is Not the fault of Scripture, but the fault of people Not obeying Scripture.
