I find mankind was allowed to eat meat starting at the time as found at Genesis 9:3-6.
I have seen pets grow old and suffer.
Those OT animal sacrifices had a quick death and Not a slow death.
    They were Not roasted alive.

However, many non-Jews sacrificed Not animals but sacrificed their own children ( I guess a form of birth control ).
    Please see Jeremiah 32:35; 2 Chronicles 28:3
Those non-Jews made their children pass through fire - Deuteronomy 18:10; Deuteronomy 12:31.

Oh my bad. It was a copper snake that cures
snakebite. That makes all the difference!

So the bible is gods infallible perfect acvuracy
    except when there are numbers.
Math being, as Einstein put it, the language with
    which god wrote the universe.

Come time to put them in the bible tho, any old
number will do. Six days might not even be about
days at all and the number six? Fuhgedaboutit!
Its just in there and means nothing.

Everywhere there is a number it was up to
people to make up, round off, guess,
approximate as it suits. What a system!

Fiendishly clever tho, for lo, when we find
a flaw in the infallible armour of perfect
god-bibleness, well, we just say god had
people make up whatever they fancy.

But, not too bad, withall. The silliness of
the argument is out in the open AND
who'd have seen this coming, but you
actually conceded that your bible is riddled
    with errors!

Climate change is not a question of "respecting the golden rule" or even recycling.
It is not something you are going to fix with merely changing "individual behaviour".

There needs to be thorough and deep change in the fundamental way in how society works, specifically in terms of how we generate energy. This is a project that literally costs trillions of dollars and which will hurt pretty much everybody's wallet.

This is not something you are I can do. This is something governments and multi-national companies must do, at the expense of profits and economic growth. This is all about turning an unsustainable economy into a sustainable one. This is not about "being nice". This is about changing how we generate energy at a very fundamental level.

I think really ' nice ' people will do what is right.
Man-made governments and the global commercial companies seem to deal with technology.
    Technology is a two-edged sword.
    Atomic Energy / Atomic Bomb
    Nitro / Dynamite = Weapons
Mankind's long history shows that man-rule has dominated man to man's hurt, to man's injury.
'Deep change in the way in how society works' is coming but No by man-rule.
Men will be saying, "Peace and Security.." but that will only prove to be the precursor to the great tribulation.
Man has proven that man can Not direct his step.

And again you demonstrate how you are part of the problem instead of the solution.

I do wonder how teaching people to live by the Golden Rule is part of the problem ____________
How is teaching people to have the same self-sacrificing love for others as Jesus has part of the problem_________
Self-sacrificing love for others is part of the solution !

You said much more then just that.
Perhaps you should re-read your own posts and ponder its implications.

For starters, neither of both will solve pressing climate issues.

In fact, it would even be perfectly possible to solve pressing climate issues, while all of us collectively would simultanously treat eachother worse then before.

If everyone on Earth lived by the Golden Rule, and by Jesus' new commandment of John 13:34-35 that would bring an end to climate problems.
Because the majority of people will Not obey God and Jesus is why there will be divine involvement into mankind's affairs.
While Jesus was on Earth he demonstrated that he can control weather phenomenon - Mark 6:51; Mark 4:39.
Thus it will be the ' words ' from Jesus' mouth that will rid the Earth of the wicked - Isaiah 11:3-4; Revelation 19:14-16.
With only righteous people left on Earth, then the righteous ones of Matthew 25:37 will be the ones left observing the Golden Rule and Jesus' new commandment to have self-sacrificing love for others.
ALL this will come about in answer to the prayer of ' thy kingdom come ' God's government of Daniel 2:44 to come.

It would? When did he say that? That verse has nothing to do with climate change.

Because the majority of people don’t believe in them.

    Nope... Vishnu’s got this.

It would magically flip our economy upside down, shut down all polluting powerplants, make fossil fuel cars disappear and make available a few trillion dollars to "rebuild" our energy generating industry?

    Well, how 'bout that...

    Wauw.

And then you wonder why I call you "part of the problem".
Here you have it... your exact mentality is that we humans don't need to do anything at all about how we are destroying the earth because "jesus will come and save us".

People like you make me lose all hope for mankind at times.

Jesus demonstrated that he has the power to regulate weather (climate) according to Mark 4:39; Mark 6:49-51
The words from Jesus' mouth to the sea calmed the sea.
The executional words from Jesus' mouth will also rid the Earth of the wicked - Isaiah 11:3-4; Revelation 19:14-16.
Since the wicked will be ' destroyed forever' according to Psalms 92:7 then righteous ones will Not pollute.
As Revelation 11:18 B informs us that God will bring to ruin those ruining the Earth ( literal and moral ruin )
Right, the majority of people don't believe in Jesus, but numbers do Not mean the majority are right.
As King of God's Kingdom government then Jesus is the rider on the white horse with angelic armies at his side.

Huh? Where did you read in the Bible that we humans don't need to to anything ________________
On the contrary, we are to do our part because God will bring to ruin those ruining the Earth - Revelation 11:18 B
There is a difference between Atomic Energy and Atomic Bombs.
How is living by the Golden Rule going to flip the economy upside down, etc_____________ Leviticus 19:18
I find the Bible emphasizes behaviors that promote economic security.
    For example:
The Bible teaches people to be honest, trustworthy, and generous - Deuteronomy 15:7-11; 25:15; Psalms 15
Christians are to be hard workers - 2 Thessalonians 3:10; 1 Timothy 5:8
Some organizations today urge business professionals to uphold such ethical standards over business creeds.
I don't see such upholding in the political realm.
Think about the Code of Law that God gave at Leviticus 19:9-10; 25:10, 35-37; Deuteronomy 24:19-21.
The Law required to set aside produce for the poor. A form of insurance .
The needy were to be granted interest-free loans.
Every 50 years (jubilee year) hereditary land given back to land owners to protect property rights.
    So, such economic provisions helped:
    * Support given through financial reversals
    * Help to recover from long-term poverty
    * Alleviated economic inequality
Imagine all this 3,000 years before the birth of economics as a study in the field science.

I find the world is putting faith (worship) in the 'god of technology' to solve the problems.
    I find technology is a two-edeged sword:
    Atomic Energy / Atomic Bomb
    Nitro / dynamite / gunpowder / weapons

Seems to me there is a lack of Bible knowledge or education that makes people think real Christians are lazy.
And remember Jesus warns MANY would come 'in his name' but prove false - Matthew 7:21-23.
That is Not the fault of Scripture, but the fault of people Not obeying Scripture.

This game couldn't do a better with the Bible than you've done here.

I find Nothing twisted about Matthew 25:31-33,37,40
It is clear that there is a coming ' time of separation ' coming to Earth.
The figurative humble people (sheep) will be the one who will remain alive on Earth and continue to live on Earth.
Alive on Earth right into the start of calendar Day One of Jesus' coming 1,000-year governmental rule over Earth.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 gives us Not a twister but straight forward that when the powers that be will be saying, " Peace and Security..." that will be the precursor to the coming great tribulation of Revelation 7:14,9 before we see the action of Revelation 19:14-16 when Jesus, as Prince of Peace, will usher in global Peace on Earth among persons of goodwill.

So you auntie has just passed away, are you just going to leave all that good meat on the bone to rot?

    Deuteronomy 28:53-57 (also Lev 26:29)

Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you. Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children, and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating. It will be all he has left because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of all your cities. The most gentle and sensitive woman among you - so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot - will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughter the afterbirth from her womb and the children she bears. For she intends to eat them secretly during the siege and in the distress that your enemy will inflict on you in your cities.

    2 Kings 6:26-29

As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, "Help me, my lord the king!"

The king replied, "If the Lord does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?" Then he asked her, "What's the matter?"

She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.' So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, 'Give up your son so we may eat him,' but she had hidden him."

    Jeremiah 19:9 (also Ezek 5:10)

I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh during the stress of the siege imposed on them by the enemies who seek their lives.

    Lamentations 4:10

With their own hands compassionate women
    have cooked their own children,
    who became their food
    when my people were destroyed.

You are twisting the verse in MUS (Made Up Stuff, though "stuff" isn't the usual word).

I was reading your post and drawing the logical conclusion from your statements.
Personally, I don't care what the bible says. Nore is it actually relevant either. We don't need any bronze age books to study climate and the detrimental effects human activity or certain technologies has on it.
We also don't need it to decide what we need to do to turn that activity around and try and repair the climate.

"the god of technology?" What are you on about?
Technology's primary purpose is literally to solve problems.

Like the device you are using right now. It solves problems / difficulties in communication or information gathering etc.

That's the equivalent of saying "don't smelt iron, someone might make a sword!".

None of this matters to the subject at hand.

Those passages you quoted are meant to show very negative conditions...not positive, pleasant situations.
