Starbucks Executive Responds to sexist email

From the salesman:

"Also, I can't help myself, what's your go-to order at Starbucks? I like my women like I like my Starbucks Coffee order: Tall, Blonde, Americano..."

The executive's response:

You lost me with this line. Tech can be a challenging place for women. Your statement perpetuates the mindset that women are here for our entertainment. I don't believe that to be true. This type of statement also makes a few dangerous assumptions: that I'm heterosexual and will relate to the objectification of women, that I'm cisgender and haven't personally been objectified/alienated, and that I'd feel comfortable objectifying women behind closed doors.

One of my company's values, that I am deeply committed to upholding is 'creating a culture of warmth and belonging, where everyone is welcome'. I'm also dedicated to increasing diversity in technology. In order to increase the number of women and minorities in this field, we need to foster an environment where everyone feels safe and supported.

Not sure who I side with. The executive made some wise comments, but the salesman from what you posted, appeared to be no more sexist than you, me, maybe even the executive.

I am speechless. Really.
I really pity American males.
The American feminist lobby has ruined them.

We've made progress on some subjects, but having Social Justice Warriors isn't so much one of them. (Talking about people who get offended at any opinion out there, including calling some women "blonde")

Now some are denigrating those who believe in justice by calling them names. And so, by extension, it's OK to attack those who believe in justice for transgender people and are not afraid to speak out on the topic.

I didn't go that far with the statement. I'm talking about a Twitter form of Social Justice like the executive used. I can see right through it.

Why? Because it's expected of them to treat women like human beings instead of sex objects, home keepers, and baby makers who burden a tremendous disproportionate burden in child rearing?

I mean, the irony of the executive going off on a salesman. I mean, mark my words, within the next year, the executive will be caught doing sexually harassing things - people who are jumpy about innocent comments almost always do.

What? Me worry?

Like that's our fault...speaking as a man, of course.

Edit: oops! Went back and re-read your post and I thought you said "...child bearing...". Casts a whole different shadow on things.

And bring me a beer. And be ready for sex whenever I command it. Because, of course, women should obey men.
Extremes are always bad.
But balance means men should not feel guilty if they like those females who are like me -by nature-submissive.

And if he doesn't can we unmark your words?

I tend to think there are some people who are truly nuts over this stuff. Such as, Ricky Gervais' joke about Catlin Jenner, which was in no way transphobic, not by any sane or rational understanding of his joke, and even though it poked at the stereotypes of women being bad drivers in relation to how Jenner has killed someone with her car, it was denounced as a transphobic joke. Some think the film Silence of the Lambs is a poor representation of transgender people in the media even though Jame Gumb/Buffalo Bill is based mostly on Edward Gein and a dash of Ted Bundy and Dr. Lector specifically states in the movie that Gumb isn't transgender but someone who is mentally nutters. And that Seth McFarlane apologized over the first Family Guy episode with Ida sometimes goes unnoticed and unaccepted.
The real issue, IMO, is that people try to pretend this is a young Liberal problem. But young or old, Left or Right, Conservative or Liberal, those sorts of free speech hating cretins exist all over the place, and they tend to stick to Jordan Petterson's predictions of what would happen to him and ignore what actually did happen to him.
