Then we need another referendum to determine if people want the reality of the Brexit options now on offer, rather than the make-believe Brexit that was offered to them in 2016, or to stay in.

We Leavers have no problem with that when the outstanding one has been enacted.

We waited 40 years for the one that has yet to be implemented.

We have waited long enough.

But I knew that in 2016; the Remainers were saying this is what would happen. Leavers were using the "Project Fear" mantra; it is now coming to pass. The Remainers, as usual, are proving to be correct.

We are where we are regardless of who is to blame.

Would you be prepared to walk away from a bad deal regarding your property transaction as above?

It has proved impossible to give people what the leave campaign promised them in 2016 (what a surprise!). There is certainly no democratic mandate for leaving with no deal.

No-deal has never been put to the people.

I voted to leave the EU in a government-implemented referendum.

That government even forced a leaflet through everyone’s letterbox prior to that referendum as part of their project fear campaign.

Where did it say in that leaflet that we would be definitely leaving with a deal or we would not be leaving at all?

More fool you, but regardless, the way Brexit was described in the leave campaign was not no deal, or even much like May's deal.

People only had the campaign to go on when they, very narrowly, voted to leave. If you'd have bought something from Amazon and the description was as unlike the reality as the campaign was, you'd be entitled to send it back and leave a disparaging review...

There was a by-election in Wales yesterday and all those that do not like the outcome should demand a re-run. According to Remoaner logic, that would be the sensible thing to do.

  1. You've just totally ignored the point I made.

  2. Why? What's the difference between what was presented to them and what they now have?

  3. They will get to have re-run, at the next election, and if they don't like the way their new MP has turned out, they can vote for somebody else.

The party that won yesterday has a leader that has gone on record as saying that if there was another referendum and the result was the same it would still not be accepted.

The Left/Remoaners only accept democracy when they win.

  1. That isn't something that has changed since the vote.

  2. I think she said that she, personally, would still vote against any attempt to implement it.

  3. She is one politician - not "The Left/Remoaners".

  4. The Brexiteers (and their right-wing, fanatically anti-EU cheerleaders in the press) only like democracy when it suits them - hence the attempts to smear anybody who suggests that the people might have changed their minds in the light of the totally different situation we have now compared with the promises of the leave campaign, as "undemocratic" or "enemies of the people". Why? Because they think they'd lose.

  5. Referenda are a totally stupid way of trying to decide complex policy issue like this, anyway.

What a good analogy!
When you are doing a property transaction you are selling a house to buy another. If it falls through you still have the house you are selling.
We have sold our house, if the one we are buying falls through, we are homeless.

We have sold our house, if the one we are buying falls through, we are homeless.

Does that mean that you would be prepared to pay an exorbitant price to avoid being homeless or would you look for a better deal even if it means renting sort term?

No, you keep hold of the original house before until you have secured your deal on the new one.

The United Kingdom sold its house when it held the referendum and is now looking for a new one.

Should it pay whatever the seller demands or should it be prepared to walk away with no deal to get a better deal?

So we were never going to get a deal if our hand was seen by the other side.
Brexiteer liars took us down a tragic path
