They are definitely not the ones who have harassed me about not believing, called me a ***, told me to leave (Indiana), called me immoral, or insisted my life must be without meaning and purpose and has to be a depressing one.
Wow, that is a reality most Christians will be not too happy to acknowledge I guess. It's not only Catholic Christian priests that messed up obviously.

Would love to reply all of these but at a conference -- time is limited.

We fundamentalists are all coming together to talk about loving people (as we also celebrate the 100,000 sponsored child with Compassion INTL.) even as you insist on how horrible we all are.View attachment 30822
I do not suggest that you are horrible. I do, however, think that you have some very obvious blind spots, and "loving people" seems all too often restricted to some subset of people or other, along with an insistence on those you "love" conforming in a number of ways.

It's easy to love people that conform. The hard part is loving people for who THEY are, not for who YOU want them to be.

And of course there are those who believe their bullying, harassing, and badgering people for not conforming to Evangelical molds is showing them love.

Nope. The Southern Baptist Church is a very large reason my childhood was mostly anguish and toment, with a lot of carrying into adulthood.

I'm sorry, is this supposed to mean something to me? Religious fundies and fanatics tend to have weird definitions of "loving people" so I'm unimpressed.

Aha, Baptist Church. I did the last 5 years some research in a Mega Church nearby where I live. Baptist. Yes, they are very judgmental towards all people who believe different then what they believe. They even had a program in this church called "Pray the Gay away" ... this flue flew over from USA.

There is the Baptist Church, and the Southern Baptist Church (they formed over the issue of slavery, which they supported).

Holland is very small, just 1 type of Baptist Church here (I think).
Reading this (supporting slavery) I expect them not to follow "do unto others what you want others to do unto you" (unless they are masochists)

Ya know, they actually do (they clau
Im so, anyways) but when it comes to misogyny, racism, and even apartheid Africa, they give all sorts of reasons and excuses to justify repression, opression, and general wickedness.

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."

Yes, that refers to homosexual ACTIVITY. Nothing there about putting people to death for being gay.
That is all your own interpretation. And not even a fact. It "might refer". Fact must be a fact under all circumstances; this is not !!!

Proof: Some people are not having sex (asexual)
So if they lie with a male as with a woman, how you call that ... also an abomination? Their activity is "NO ACTIVITY" ... this is also bad according to you, because all must act like you act when being with a woman? Or do you agree now that it's better to say "it might refer"?

Or is it even wiser to "not judge others at all" and not impose Bible verses on others ... just to keep things to ourselves? It is called "my belief" after all !!!

If you're going to claim I'm saying things I never said, I'll just leave you to have your angry contrived conversation by yourself. Obviously you don't need my input.

Your quote "that it refers to homosexual ACTIVITY", not mine. I just proved you wrong.

Hahaha, angry contrived conversation. So you are omniscient also, knowing how I feel.
Let me help you out of your dream. I can't be more happy regarding this conversation.

Others are quite capable to interpret Bible verses for themselves
Better not to impose your fantasies and interpretations on others, that's all
Especially when it comes to belittling and telling them they are wrong to have gay sex

It is just so mean to tell someone "It's okay to be gay, just don't have sex ... that's all"

Whatever dude. I'll leave you to your imaginary conversation. You clearly have no desire to actually listen to anyone else, your mind is made up. TGIF.

Sorry you are right, I was wrong. I thought you agreed with the verse. Obviously you just gave the correct interpretation. My mistake.

A lot of Christians are terrible people. As far as human beings go, they suck. But it is you who jumped to the conclusion we think all of them are vile wretches.

Only because of how your express yourself ;)

Note: "A lot of Christians are terrible people"... Some? A few? How many?

Defined: Very many, a large number; also, very much. dictionary.com

Actually, isn't it you that sounds terrible? By your posts?

You have absolutely no idea about who I am and who I love. And since I do love, I would say it is only in your perception which has nothing to do with reality.

No problem. I certainly understand how a few can misrepresent the majority. I would agree that there are crazies that would give weird representations.

However, it would still be the few.
