Nike reportedly pulls "Betsy Ross flag" shoes over concerns from Colin Kaepernick

Fraternity and cooperation could also be imaginary concepts then.

With nothing left in common with one another, there is no reason for anyone to care about anyone but themselves.
People exist. Nations are fictions. Which would be fine enough, except that they are usually used to create contrasts, not fraternity.

I see a world of difference.

His ancestors were likely slave owners though.
That frankly doesn't mean anything. I could care less if somebody's ancestors were slaves or slave owners. That has no bearing on the character of a person today, and it doesn't necessarily mean that they're poor or rich today.

Exactly. I don’t think it matters one bit.

Do you have any sort of reason why you think that? I'm curious.

As far as I can tell, the only string left holding us together is our monetary system. Which is an odd thing to hold people together to begin with IMO.

Not even that. The media (not just news) is keeping the nation together. As it slides towards the left so to with it goes any common ground. Dems are importing their next voting base so there will be a point in which the right never wins a major election thus will revolt.

...Should our economy collapse, all hell will break loose. We might even see cannibalism.

The left will suffer the most as it's majority is in the cities. They will be killing each other in the streets for crumbs within 3 days.

Nike caters to a loser racist's whining over Betsy Ross while Colin K. doesn't bother to do his homework concerning the child slave labor Nike exploits so as to make those shoes?

Way to go Kaepernick! You're anti-American and LAZY! But research won't get you paid. Right boy-o?

I'm all for renaming Columbus Day to Indigenous People's Day if I'm honest. Columbus doesn't have any kind of moral character worth celebrating.
Replace with two holidays "Indigenous People's day" and "Viking's Day" and I'll be happy because it would be more historically meaningful than having a day named after a slaver

I think it more likely that any revolt will come from the left. You already have many groups of Antifa people going around attacking police, journalists, passersby and people several blocks away. Antifa has even been found planning to start conflicts at the border, and many of them go to their protests carrying knuckles, knives and batons, and there are many in mainstream journalism who overlook or excuse their violence. The fringe extreme right knows they'll never get any support from sane people so they'll always just be a tiny group of fringe crazies without any power. Antifa, however, has support from anarchists, communists and socialists, as well as a great deal of folks in the progressive wing who don't believe that the many stories of violence that we have on record form a pattern of behavior.

A holiday where I can drink mead and beer, engage in historical European martial arts and play some hard folk metal? Sign me the **** up.

Left-wing media has been protecting antifa for years. A member of Congress own son is in the group (dem). Portland's mayor orders cops to stand down. I see a lot of Dems ignoring them.

Those are all urban champagne socialists not militias. Why do you think they only attack people in areas with heavy gun laws? The fringe right have militia groups with training. The fringe left are a bunch of losers that attack people as a group then run into the crowd to hide. They are not the revolutionaries of history.

I'm not saying they'd win a war. But they're escalating the divide between the two and driving us to a point where battle lines are being drawn and both sides are demonizing each other. They engage in low- to mid-level political violence and we routinely see how just a milkshake being thrown by them turns into them throwing fists and breaking out weapons. They'll start a war, but they won't be the ones to end it.

I'm guessing you know this, but he is not white. He's mixed.
Do you believe in the “One Drop of Blood” theory?

He’s mostly white. He was raised in a middle class white family in a middle class white area. Only a racist would say he’s black.

FWIW, geneticists have proved there are no “races”. We’re all 99.9%+ alike. A few minor facial differences and differing skin tone makes as much difference as different colored paint and trim on identical cars. Our main differences are cultural. Kaepernick, like Elizabeth Warren, was white but now, because of a minor blip in his parental history, he’s claiming to be black. His choice, but I think it’s BS.

I am looking at capabilities. The fringe right has weapons and ex-military training. The fringe left has milkshakes and sticks.

I think the fringe right will start an armed revolt against government as the left will come to dominate politics. All they need to is take out the power grid and it's chaos. The military knows the power grid is vulnerable and impossible to defend. Ex-military know this too.

No, I don't support the "one drop rule" such as when mixed black/white people are automatically labeled "black". But they shouldn't be labeled "white", either. We're a mixture of both and have our own unique experiences. It's racist to say someone isn't "black enough", as if there's certain behavior or experiences that decide your ethnicity.
