I believe you are suggesting that "Christian" means the totality of possible beliefs as opposed to accreditation and essential belief.
I got that once from someone who felt my view of the Trinity didn't match up to his. He said I wasn't a Christian. I believe people around me credit me as one and I believe I am one in essential belief but no doubt am a heretic in the sight of those who hold incorrect doctrines.
Muffled,
It makes no difference how anyone judges you or anyone else!!
Notice how Paul put this, 1Corinthians 4:3-5.
We are to be judged by what the Bible says that we should do, or not do, and we will be judged by Jesus when he comes again to earth, Acts 17:31, 2Thessalonians 1:6-10, Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 19:11-21. We were given, in God’s word, the conditions that would be on earth, when Jesus returns. Those conditions are clearly seen today. If we would like to live forever, in a paradise earth, it would behave us to follow, as closely as we can, Jesus footsteps, 1Peter 2:21. Jesus is at the door, now!!!
