OK, so someone who is upset because they are same-sex attracted are suffering because two things are true:
1) They are attracted to people of the same sex and
2) They believe that this is wrong.
We cannot change 1, it cannot be done, and to try is massively damaging. We can, however, change 2, by educating them and the people around them. So that's how you solve their problems.

That is not how it works. Difficult as it may be to believe, homosexuality is not a disease to be "cured", and efforts in that direction are nearly always abusive and disrespectful.
