It's not needed. It's just wanted.

Ducks don't pick pretty ducks to mate with because they need to. They do it because they want to. They live in rich and easy environments, so finding food and avoiding predators is not a big concern for them.

Chimps live in a tough environment. The beauty of their mate is not the first thing on their mind. Being strong, tough, and resourceful is.

Do you mean the ugly ones can't rape the beautiful ones because food is easy to find?
or maybe rape isn't allowed in their environment.

In many of these bird species, all of the ugly males have already been selected out of existence. Now, it's to a point where every single male has an elaborate color scheme. It's up to the female to pick which particular one she likes the best. As for rape, sure, a male duck can try to rape if he's having no luck, but I'm sure at this point in their evolutionary course, what one female doesn't pick, another female would. And to reiterate, no. None of this is needed for their survival or to promote reproductive success. But these species of duck are not worried about survival or procreation. Their lives are so easy that they can afford to care about more trivial stuff.

It's the same reason why we breed dogs to look cute and cuddly. It has nothing to do with our survival or for any practical purpose. We do it simply because we want to.

You do have to be pretty gullible to buy into non Theistic evolution!!
I'm reminded of a quote that came up on my Facebook feed today:

"A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand." - Bertrand Russell

How could one designer designs such totally different designs, the patterns of these photos would indicate multiple artists with different profiles and these are just a few of the designs.

Or perhaps it indicates a genius whose passion for beauty, variety and design know no bounds such as is evident in limited human creativity. Do we not admire ingenuity when humans exhibit it? But we ignore it in creation.

This is what always gets me about the designer, you have one crazy insane designer whose profile, desire, taste change randomly. Now maybe if there are multiple designers perhaps 1000's for the billions of designed creatures on this earth.

Those who believe in an intelligent designer know that the design evident in anything we use is purposeful. In order to serve a purpose, a designer has to be aware of what is required to enable something to be useful, or how to modify something to make it even more useful.
"Accidents" or random chance do not produce purposeful improvements to anything, nor do they commonly produce anything that enhances functionality.

Accidents result in damage, not enhancement.

How many amazing "flukes" does it take to produce the wonders of nature.....all completely wasted if humankind did not have the mental capacity to see and appreciate and study what is around them. When was the last time you saw a cow admiring the sunset or complementing a farmer on the quality of the grass in his paddock?

Evolutionists simply play with the numbers and shroud their silly theory in jargon so that people will naturally assume that they have proof for what they believe. They think that by adding billions of years to their "theory" they will make all the possibilities become reality. Sorry...there is no more proof for that theory than there is for an all powerful intelligent designer who is probably laughing at the audacity of the 'fleas' on this 'dog' to suggest that there is no proof of his existence.....it's all around us. Just open your eyes.

Would the world's top designers win awards for the filial nematode worm too? Why are these little beauties never used as an example of the wonders of 'intelligent design'? Can it possibly be accidental that these little worms 'evolved' to be perfectly suited to making their home in the eyeballs of poor African children? Which came first, the worm or the parasitic infection of a child's eye? Are you suggesting it just materialised out of thin air?

Filariasis (or philariasis) is a parasitic disease caused by an infection with roundworms of the Filarioidea type.[1] These are spread by blood-feeding black flies and mosquitoes. This disease belongs to the group of diseases called helminthiases.

The adult worms, which usually stay in one tissue, release early larval forms known as microfilariae into the host's bloodstream. These circulating microfilariae can be taken up with a blood meal by the arthropod vector; in the vector, they develop into infective larvae that can be transmitted to a new host.

The most spectacular symptom of lymphatic filariasis is elephantiasis—edema with thickening of the skin and underlying tissues—which was the first disease discovered to be transmitted by mosquito bites.[2] Elephantiasis results when the parasites lodge in the lymphatic system.

Elephantiasis affects mainly the lower extremities, while the ears, mucous membranes, and amputation stumps are affected less frequently. However, different species of filarial worms tend to affect different parts of the body; Wuchereria bancrofti can affect the legs, arms, vulva, breasts, and scrotum(causing hydrocele formation), while Brugia timori rarely affects the genitals.[citation needed] Those who develop the chronic stages of elephantiasis are usually amicrofilaraemic, and often have adverse immunological reactions to the microfilariae, as well as the adult worms.[2]

The subcutaneous worms present with rashes, urticarial papules, and arthritis, as well as hyper- and hypopigmentation macules. Onchocerca volvulus manifests itself in the eyes, causing "river blindness" (onchocerciasis), one of the leading causes of blindness in the world.[citation needed] Serous cavity filariasis presents with symptoms similar to subcutaneous filariasis, in addition to abdominal pain, because these worms are also deep-tissue dwellers.

The Bible has an explanation for that too....but I won't bore you with the detail. Lets just say that the human immune system is designed to keep out all "intruders", but due to the exercise of free will (which evolutionists too are exercising) choices were made that impacted on the body's ability to utilize this function optimally.

You are aware that different species have different mating rituals aren't you?

If not, it should be easy enough to find a few documentaries on Youtube or Animal Planet to help you reach an elementary level of understanding.

And don't those mating rituals make you realize that the designer made all species to be self replicating and self perpetuating so that life can continue as it should uninterrupted?
It is the stupidity of short sighted and corrupt humans who are using science for despicable ends that is threatening all life on this planet!

How clever is science really? How clever is nature to still function in spite of it?

These are a few different species of ducks....one can only marvel at their artistic designs and color schemes.

Who could possibly think that these just evolved and turned out like this through the process of gene mutations and adaptation? What survival advantage is there in being this beautiful?

We have some of these. :)
The (European version) longtail lives in the high latitudes, surviving well even in rough sea areas. The others cannot.
The Shoveller (big bill) can sift more fine foods from water than the others. The others cannot.
The Tree-duck) Carolina can nest in high trees and its ducklings can survive great falls. The others cannot.
The Widgeon is a grass cropper. The others cannot crop grass!
The Mallard (2 pics) is ubiquitous and can manage to survive in more urban places as well as the wild.

They are all different, evolved separately, to survive in different ways.

Why? There are so many biological functions and anatomy arrangements that make sense without guided evolution but makes a designer look incompetent. Numerous fatal flaws, such as uterine lining in the fallopian tube which makes ectopic pregnancy possible, or a larynx used for both respiration and swallowing, making choking an unnecessary hazard, or lacking an enzyme which even other primates have to manufacture our own vitamin c, making scurvy a real threat, veins that have inefficient layouts, eyes which are backwards and allows for blindspots, if a god wanted to design to reflect hid power and wisdom, and that design is biology, then it's no wonder why biologists are the least religious of any scientific field.

All these flaws are just that....flaws that came about as the result of losing physical, mental and spiritual perfection. The Bible explains this...science can explain nothing.

You realize that everything is individual no two things the same so not only does your genius create so much variety but He\She has to constantly design new things probably at a rate of about 1million/second or even higher depending on how much life is in the universe. What about the ugly things did he/she with genius skill design them. I notice he/she always gets credit for beauty and elaborate things such as the eye but what about cow ****, mosquitoes and puke does he\she design this as well.

Of course your genius also designs the clouds and the storms and the rocks even the toast burns(especially the ones with Jesus Christ or Mother Mary)

What evolutionists take for granted is the way that nature operates. Its interactive mechanisms, both internally and externally, demonstrate purpose and specific design in everything, but evolutionary science wants us to believe that all this design is merely the product of random chance over an inestimable period of time.....what are the odds against even one of these living things being in existence without being purposefully designed......they are astronomical when you study the mechanics of it all. Multiply all the species of life that exists and that is a whole mess of really fortunate accidents.

The fact that science cannot explain how life began, pours water all over the many ideas of how life changed. What does it matter how life adapted to changing environments and food sources.....if there is an all powerful creator who was the first cause....the originator of life itself...that changes everything. If there is a designer, then he has a purpose to our being....humans alone need a purpose to their activities. Its what makes us like our Creator.

The fact that planet earth is situated exactly where it is in the universe....this 'Goldilocks' planet is just the right size, just the right distance from the sun...rotates at exactly the right speed...has exactly the right mixture of gases so that sparks will not cause perpetual explosions....and it just happens to be an environment that is perfect for sustaining the life it supports. Evolution puts the cart before the horse....it says that life arose because of the environmental conditions, but the environment was set up so as to sustain the life that was created here. I believe that is self evident.

It should also be pointed out that animals -- birds in particular -- only really care about aesthetics when they live in a rich environment with lots of resources and minimal to zero threat of predation. Finding food and surviving is not their biggest concern, so they can afford to be superficial and care only for the looks of a mate. Birds that live in harsher environments will care more about a mate's ability to find food, defend against predators, and other more practical stuff. It's why not every bird species looks pretty. Only the species that have relatively easy lives look pretty.

Now you are talking about instinct. All living things are "programmed" for self-sufficiency and the perpetuation of their species. They do not consciously plan for this...it is "programmed" into them. The variety of species is reflected in the variety of their mating behaviors. Selecting a mate for the future of the species is what is programmed into every living thing. It isn't always about looks...chemistry also has a great deal to do with reproduction.

When we have computer programs that we run on a regular basis, do we ever imagine that they just happened by accident? How much intelligence and training do programmers need in order to develop and produce these programs that are often responsible for the smooth workings of highly efficient corporations?

Let's begin step by step.
You admit now that the laws of sexual selection as delineated by the wikipedia article are sufficient to explain the arising of plumage of male ducks?
If you accept this, then we can have a discussion if those laws show signs of having design and purpose.
Jumping steps is characteristic of lazy thinking. That won't get us anywhere.

So you're telling me that the veins of the eyes magically migrated to the outside of the eye, or that Adam and Eve didn't have a shared respitory/swallowing orifice? Even though it's a trait of nearly all animals and there has never been evidence of any early human without these traits?

Rather, I think you're reaching to justify a very unscientific view.

I thought you were talking about "flaws". Since when is a "shared respitory/swallowing orifice" a flaw? The coughing reflex is a natural response to any foreign substance entering the wrong 'pipe'.

Veins in the eyes are exactly where the Creator designed them to be. In all of his evolutionary musings, Darwin had the most difficulty with the design and operation of the eyes in various species. How did so many creatures develop sight in such an amazing variety of eyes. Fish eyes, bird eyes, animal eyes, insect eyes...human eyes?

Unlike animals, humans are not programmed to get old or sick or to lose loved ones in death. When do you suppose evolution will catch up with that? When will we stop grieving when we have to bury someone we still want to share our lives with? When will we stop trying to defy age or to live forever? After all these millions of years, why do we have no 'program' for death?
